Could someone please explain in dummy language what photostitch is? TIA Shasta

Shasta, I see you got two really good links - that should help you to understand the photostitch process or designs - I hope they help you - I enjoy the fresh look of photo stitch - but not always the jump stitches that are necessary to make it work. Hehehe!
