When I signed into Cute tonight...I saw an ad for 'Altova database Spyware' download free on the home page....what is that???

Those are Google ads, Linda, and they have nothing to do with Cute. The site has to accept Google advertising in order to BE advertised, nice, huh? You will see a lot of the same on other sites. That certainly doesn't mean that the site recommends the product. I would go to them with care, personally. If you want computer protection, which you should have, get a good one like Macafee, Norton, one of the big names. Hugs, Marji
