It took me ages but i did download it all and put it to very good use. a friend asked me to make her a windsock so that she could find her caravan in the middle of an eventing field where all caravans look alike. She particuarly wanted the words of her dog agility group on it of BARKAWAY. and this is where Megannies font came in. I had managed to get some parachute nylon off cuts and so starrted to work on the windsock this morning. Now i have never done applique work before let alone a windsock so it was all a learning curve. Now applique calls for lots of scissor work that i cannot do so how do you cut out all the letters that had to be done in double for each side of the windsock, the answer it YOU DON'T. at least not with scissors, I hooped up with stitch and tear and then basted on the nylon, the first four letters were sewn out.
It is at this point i cheat, i use a small soldering iron with a very sharp tip, ( i filed it to a point myself) and with the the completed work on a piece of wood i follow the letters with the hot iron. No raw edges, no bits left, all the small bits in the A, R and B were removed with ease, fuse webbing was put onto the back of each letter by dint of useing a silicon bakeing sheet and then the letters placed onto the main sock and pressed and fused into position. finally i sewed around the edges of each letter, this only left the finishing touches and the final seam to complete, My friend took proud possesion of her three foot long wind sock and will now be takeing orders next week for me. I have uploaded a photo of the windsock with the wonderfull font that Megannie created. Thank you Megannie. Annie in the Uk
