That's why I bought a separate sewing machine and Embroidery only machine, love the idea of doing 2 things at once. Mine only have names when they're being bad, quite unprintable names, hee hee hee. But I do have a lawn tractor named Rudie...Hugs, Marji

my machine does not have a name, but it depends of his/hers behaviour what I say to it. My machine does have a heart you know, when I leave it alone during embroidery it starts to tease me !!!!he or her( what should it be?) wants me to stay nearby, so in that case I don't say sweet names !!LOL

Of course, I call them my babies - THE baby is my husqvarna Designer 1 and 'the new baby' is my Husqvarna serger - then there is 'The Bitch' which is what I call my little girl kitty when she trys to help me to much. (she's the one whose pix I posted a while back) Then of couse I also call my sewing machine THAT SOB when the need arises -keeping in mind it's NEVER my fault when something goes wrong! (hahahahahaha)

I don't name my machines, but I have an older Brother sewing machine, a Brother embroidery/sewing machine, and my newest embroidery only machine. I'm considering purchasing a serger. Problem is....I barely have the room to set up ONE machine, much less several of them.

I have 3 Husqvarna sewing machines. One is the old original sewing machine that I've had since I was 25!! (a long time ago) not embroidery and the other 2 well I have the newest Designer 1 Limited Edition and the other Husqvarna Quilter I gave (mind you gave) to my younger daughter Amy. I also gave her an overlocker as I got a new one when I bought the Designer 1. I also have the sewing machine set up in the computer room. Well it is actually our back room but there is a billiard table in here too and I use that as my cutting table! It has a big cover over it so it keeps it in good condition.

With regards to names mine is Desi (short for designer) mind you I have two weeping Grevilleas out in the front garden called George and Grace!!!! LOL aren't we a weird mob?

Love and blessings Chris

Wow, you use your billiard table for your cutting table!! We have a snooker table which is much bigger and if I even tried to use it s a cutting table my husband would kill me...lol..Maybe that`s why he built me a new sewing room with my own cutting table.....lol

Thankyou for sharing this,it makes us more of a family, love the billiard sewing top table, must make pinning a quilt together less stressful on your back. Hopefully one day we have a chance to get together for a cupa.

OH you are funny - I have an Elegante - I do ocassionally refer to it as Ellie - but I never thought that it was her name - but it must be. I have my PC in my embroidery room - I have a couple machines - that I really don't use and don't have set up - I have an Elna, Escante, and my Mother's Husgvarna & her serger - that I haven't had the heart to use yet.

No I have never named my Machines. But I treat them like babies (I look after them all and tuck them in when not in use) I have 4 Machines in my sewing room so I can do a few projects at a time and I have my own Pc in my sewing room, so I can log onto Cute when I have the embroidery Machine doing her own thing.

Hugs Yvonne

DH bought me an overlocker for my birthday,i have only worked out the basics.maybe i should take a class.hugs and flowers for you.

marjialexa by marjialexa 02 Apr 2009

Uhh, Michele, you actually have a "normal" machine? Mine are all BOKERS! They are "paranoid" when I leave them, the embroidery machine is "schizophrenic", sometimes nice, sometimes naughty, and the serger (overlocker) is a "homicidal maniac", cause that foot pedal has 2 speeds, off and 60mph! Hee hee hee Marji
