how you get the leather to stay in place on the lower part of the hoop that needs to clip onto the machine?

Thank all of you so much for the helpful links and information. Now I have several ideas on how to go about embroidering on leather. I'm kind of anxious totry it!

You hoop sticky stabilizer, the one that comes with a removable paper on top, sticky site up. Remove as much of the paper as needed by scoring it with a pin. Then you just stick the leather on top. No hoop marks.
