This looks like a really cool place to spend some time.
There's one in Temecula, CA and it's called "The 50's Diner." Really neat. You can get coke floats, vanilla coke, real malts, and lots of other things from the 50's. The waitresses wear 50's clothing.
Our after school hangout was not painted that bright red, but I do remember the 25 cent bit. I was able to buy a coney dog and pepsi ... does that tell you how old I am? (Don't spread it around.) GG
Don't say Pepsi any where near Atlanta. Just kidding, I had a friend that drank RC colas.
You know, you really don't have to have that much age on you. I'm 52 and Mom and Dad always said that my brother (who was a year older that me) were born in the wrong time warp. He and I both always listened to the 50's music and to the big bands. And I still do. Those were the days when music was music.
I'm 57 and I love the 50"s music. What a blast. Here in Minneapolis, MN we have a 50's dinner. Lots of fun
How COOL is that - what was the name of this place?
I am so dumb,I forgot to look!!! It is located in Social Circle, Ga. and is owned by the same family that owns the famous "Blue Willow Inn" in Social Circle also. It has been written about many times and voted the top place for southern style food in Southern Living Mag. I'll bet you have heard of it.
thank you Kay - I haven't even seen the Mag. but have heard of it - Hehehe!
the looks of that place sure brings back the memories. Wish there was one close by to me!!
Oh boy, does that bring back memories! There was a drug store that had a place in it almost like that within walking distance from where I lived. I can remember that we would all get together and go get a cherry coke as often as possible. When Mom would take me I would be treated to a cheeseburger and a chocolate milkshake. That was too many years ago! I think it was a Chi-Chesters on Montpelier Ave in Macon, Ga. but I am not sure. There were so many Chi-Chesters I may be getting mixed up
We would all go to the drug store after school. I rarely had 25 cents to buy a hamburger. I usually bought a coke for a nickel. Can't remember how much the jukebox cost.
