ME! I'm making the Farm Alphabet Quilt from Britt Designs. All the squares are done and I'm just putting it together. My grandson has been "in" the project from the beginning and says all the animal sounds. He plays with the thread and has learned colors, such as blue, yellow, red, green, white, etc. It's been fun with a little buddy! I love him to pieces! "We'll" probably start a car quilt next.
I made a wall hanging of the alphabet from Ricky's site for grandkids and made a quilt for grandson with alpha on it
I've stitched some on Towells and tote bags, but that seems like an age ago before my machine seized up and all this chemo and broken ankle put me out of action.
I had just started in a quilting group where we are going to be taught how to quilt, while the quilts we make are going to the Victorian bush fire victims. Hope Polly and I can figure out how I can still go and do it. Then I was planning to (TRY to) make a quilt for my GD using a set of Sunbonnets aleternating with alphabets.
hugs n roses, M
Kerry, so what you are saying is - that these alpha's that are being collected - are to be stitched out?????? Hehehe! Funny girl - I have not made a quilt with any - but have used some of them - or the letters of them on T-shirts and items - one day - maybe a quilt will come out. Who knows for sure - so have you made a quilt with any of them?
Yes shirlene, that's it in a nutshell....
Did I tell you I have about 52 sets, not all complete tho...and dear friend, I don't look like this just yet,,,,give me a few more years ok....hehehe....
I use some of my Alphabets as the frist letter of something I embroider. I used a cute Easter egg alphabet from Cassandra's Embroidery on some hand towels for my grandson's playgroup teachers. I wish I had taken a picture.
FUnny you should bring this up. I have tons of alphabets JUST IN CASE I may ever use them. LOL! I still haven't used ANY of them. LOL! But they are so pretty!
I am making a quilt using the rose font from cutealpha. Each day I download the letter I embroider out that evening, that way you do not have a huge workload at the end of the alpha download. Will post once quilt is finished.
I also had that thought of doing one a day as you say, keeps the work load down. Unfortunately my computer and sewing machine are in differnt places, 2 seperate houses on same acreage...will have to fix that problem REAL SOON....
I've been using some as monograms instead of the Alpha for a quilt...Did a baby bib and a purse!!!
