Gayle, the format for clipart doesn't relate to the format of embroidery file you will use. Most common extension types for clipart are JPG or BMP but other picture/photo editing software can read other formats as well eg EPS. If you are not familiar with these then your best bet would be to downlaod JPG or BMP.
