I just want to ask anybody who buy embroidery designs how much you charge someone? How you base it? I will appreciate it if you can give me an answer.

This is a good question that comes up a lot. For sewing and embroidering, if I'm not sure what to charge I check the local tailors or embroidery shops. I just pretend that I want the job done there and ask how much they charge. Then I work around that price depending on what is involved.

I don't understand the question. Do you want to know how much to charge for a design or for embroidering one?

Sometimes a price is given for the number of stitches - $1 per 1000 - with a minimum of $3 - it takes just as long to set up the work (choosing colours, hooping, and so on) for a large design as for a small one. But that would add up quickly for dense designs, not something you'd want to charge nowadays. Another way of looking at it is: how much do you spend on thread, wss and stabilizer; and do you add something for your time. Don't sell yourself short, you'll get irritated when people are so pleased with the low price they'll come back time and again for an exclusive and cheap present. Set a price YOU think is reasonable and explain to your customer what your costs are in terms of material and time. Hope this helps.

Thank you so much Mops and you did give me an idea. I did a lot of embroidery and all are free. The last one was a shower curtain that took me a week to finish. Maybe one of this days I can upload it so you can see and tell me if I'm doing it good. Thanks God bless.
