Well done and so clever of you to re use shirts. Thanks for this idea.
I think we all find these designs adorable; is this your own idea or do you hv a pattern for it. A lovely idea for little girls dresses, they're great
I start with yoke and sleeve pieces from a Simplicity pattern, then just measure, cut...sew the rest. Each one turns out a bit different in lenght, etc. They are fun to do...make up in less than an hour without the embroidery.
Adorable... what a good way to make cheater buttons on a dress!
just a hint, ladies...
when looking for a shirt, make sure it is a good quality, one that needs little-to-none ironing. Most shirts in thrift stores have been washed (and washed!) so just by looking and feeling the shirt, you can tell if it's going to need ironing (like the front placket will not be flat..etc..). This one happened to be like a seersucker type...worked up terrific and I know it will wash again very well when needed. Many of the shirts you will find will be too stift..too many wrinkles...avoid them!
This so very clever and SOOOOO adorable too. I think I may check out my local Goodwill. :) Becky
