spiral notebooks with the designs? I hope not because I have deleted some to make room for more designs. I have JEF format.

I too keep the copyrights per designer or site, hardly ever save colour files.

Well, the "spiral notebooks" are the lists of threads, or directions, or copyrights. It might be helpful to have them, unless you choose your own thread colors, either in the machine or in Digitizer or Customizer or another software. If you're not selling anything, ever, just putting designs on your own stuff or gifts, the copyright may not be as important to you. I make sure I have the copyright from each *designer*, that won't usually change for any of their particular design files. If you're going to sell anything, even at craft fairs, better make sure you have that copyright, and follow it to the letter. Also, with some files you're going to get a .jpg, which is a photo of the stitchout of the design, that might be handy to have, too. Just curious, what kind of computer do you have, and how many designs? The design files don't take up that much room that you should have to be deleting tiny "wordpad" files to make more room, that's not making a lot of sense to me. Maybe with more info we could help you get sorted out better with your designs. I use JEF too, Janome 300E, Digitizer Pro. I have a laptop, thousands of design files, several HUGE programs loaded, and haven't begun to use up a quarter of my hard drive. Just wondering, is all. Best of luck to you!! Hugs, Marji

thanks. I have always wondered about those spiral notebooks. I was saving designs on a memory stick that did not have a lot of space on it. I now have a larger(8GB) stick and I am putting all designs on that stick. I wanted to compress as much as possible. My old memory stick has corrupt files on it...but not all of them. Just a few files which have some of my adorable applique designs. I have gone to AA and downloaded my designs again to this new stick. I don't know a lot of technical stuff for computers but just enough to get by. I have a dell computer with lots of hard drive and do save all my designs on this computer in addition to the memory stick as my back up. I am so afraid I will lose something. I go out of town to work each week and download to the stick while I am away then have to upload those designs when I get home. I am so glad I asked about the spiral notebook icons. Thank you so much. Each day when I log on to this site I learn something and I enjoy this site so much. If I am away for a day I feel it because I am anxious to log on. Thanks Marji. You're a gem.
