We paint my sewing room ,which gets alot of light,a blue/gray with the same colour vertical drapes. The carpet is light gray , which I love because it shows all the thread ends to be vacuumed up. It is great having just a sewing room, once the kids all move out. You don't have to go looking for stuff because it is all there now. Just remember to shut the door when the grands are over. Lynn

My room is a very soft mint green, white trim, and my floral accents are white and purples....all go extremely well together...the purples and green compliment each other well.

Mine is a blue faux finish using 3 shades of blue with white curtains, my sewing center is also white as are all my shelves.

What abt a nice grey/blue, you can get some lovely shades in that without them being drab or dreary. But mostly you should go with a colour you like; If you like green go for a different shade & compliment it with a contrasting colour. (i.e. blue & yellow are cheery fresh colours but not everyone's cup of tea). Go with something you like so you don't hate it when done & something that makes you happy. I've always found blue/green shades very favourable.........what abt going for the really soft light shades in these contrasted with a white/off white;hint of soft yellow/gray, would look clean & crisp & always fresh. If you can't decide go to the dealers get samples of what you like or think you'd like, bring them home, mull over the choices; if you really like something get a small sample, paint patch on wall looking at it nite & in day, allowing to dry a couple of days - you should know if you'll like the colour better. Not sure on contrast - your dealer could help.
Good luck with whatever you choose, I'm sure it will be lovely.

Wow, what flooring did you decide on? I love blue/green myself - but my grands would adore the pink/purple - see - I am not help - paint color really is a personal preference.

Does the room have a lot or little natural light? What do you find most peaceful or enjoyable? Some questions to ask...then I would go to the local home/paint store and maybe get some of their advice. Good luck, it can be a very hard decision....remember your floor too (dark or light).
