Eugenia, it sounds to me - if you just get busy with all the angels, bookmarks, butterflies, and window ornaments - you will be busy right up until the day that you have surgery - you are a very giving person and any thing or any time that you feel best about giving - is the right time - I will of coarse be praying for a speedy recovery for you in June. I like the suggestion to giving it to them before surgery - but you necessarily can't always have it the way that you want - prior to surgery - they may not allow you to have them with you to give out. I like your generosity, too. *4U
What a lovely idea. Give out some of those angels when they come to get you for the surgery to remind the surgical staff Who is in charge and watching over you.
hope your surgery goes well. as for the gift, i think I would give them when you leave the hospital. As a thank you not only for the surgery but also for the nursery.so best wishes and best recovery, greetings gerry
That is such a lovely idea.
I did a lot of thinking about embroidering gifts for my doctors and hospital staff, but after five surgeries and five weeks in hospital, followed by chemo, all my best intentions went out the window, as I got sicker and sicker.. LOL!
For the nurses I was going to embroider individual sleep masks, i figure since they all work shift work it might be something each one could use.
I wanted to embroider pictures for my surgeons' offices, something special to do with breast cancer,
in fact I've just had the best idea, I might give my breast surgeon the Fight like a Girl design I did, it would look nice in a silver frame.
I still haven't given up on the idea, as soon as I'm really on top of things again, your post has reminded me that I should start making these gifts.
I'm sure your roses will be a most welcome treat, there's nothing quite as nice as receiving a beautiful bunch of roses.
God bless you for thinking of your medical team, these days all you usually hear is complaints, it's nice to hear accolades instead.
Hugs n roses, M
Thanks Meganne, I can certainly understand that you have not felt like or had the time to make gifts for your medical team. I think your idea for a picture for the Dr. Office would be splendid as well as inspiring.
I have been meaning to make bookmarks, etc and keep them with me so that when I see someone doing something special for someone, I could give them a bookmark. Then this week the thought came to me - why not make something to give away when I'm in the hospital.
One thought on our roses, There is a saying that the more you share, the more you'll have to share. I believe this will also apply to our special embroidery items.
Thanks everyone for your great suggestions.
I just ordered another set of FSL window ornaments from Criwsell Embroidery. I'll post some pics when I get them stitched.
I think that everyone has offered you some very good advice! All the very best for your upcoming surgery!
Hugs

*4U!
A lot would depend on the days your nurses r off, also CNAs. If they ro going to b off when u ro discharged and have taken care of u. I would make sure hey get one before they r gone. dr. he can get his anytime, Those u will only see prior to surgery, I would give them theirs then such as anethetist etc. Hope everything goes well for u *
I think any time is fine. I have had both hips and knees replaced. I am doing great. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. My prayers are with you. Do your rehab religiously. Make a HUGE difference in your recovery.
Thanks,
This is really encouraging. Everyone says I won't regret having this done.
I'll have to have the other one done at a later date.
In Japan we offer gifts when we leave the hospital, I don't know about other countries... I think it's nice to share the roses with the Doctors office too. You will be in my thoughts and prayers, Ewroland. Love&blessings, Yoriko
Thanks Yoriko,
I figure I'm going to be passing out a lot of Angels and butterflies - so I'd better get busy stitching.
I would give your gifts to the nurses the day before or the day of your discharge from the hospital. The doctors usually get theirs at the time of discharge or at the first post-op visit. And, please, don't forget to remember your anesthesia providers as well as the surgical staff. They are the forgotten people who keep you alive and well during the surgical procedure
Good Luck! I'm sure that you will do well. Many patients have less discomfort after the surgery than they had before it.
Angel blessings,
Barb
Thank you so much for these suggestions.
I hadn't thought about the Anesthesia and surgical staff. I know the doctor and his assistant will be visiting daily until my discharge. I'm going to an orthoepedic specialty hospital. A friend recently had his knee replaced and he is doing marvelously. We have the same Doctor.
I LQQK forward to your speedy recovery. God specializes in things that seems impossible...He's a GREAT PHYSICIAN that NEVER lost a patient ;) Great idea to give out angels. Someone will be along to answer your question ;D *2U
