Found the solution for my threads breaking, QA thread stand & organ needles. Have not had a thread break since started using these together.

you might also find it helpful to use thread nets as they prevent the thread from unravelling too fast and getting tied around the stand.

Professional machinists wouldn't dream of not using thread stands, but then we always use large cones so using a stand is the only way to go.

Check out the thread nets, link below.

Using a thread stand is always a good idea, even when doing patchwork. Organ needles are good. They make the needles for Janome. BUT don't use QA threads. They don't always have the coverage, especially on the larger designs, because they are finer and they WILL shred and break! They also stitch uneven and loop.
The old adage....... you only get what you pay for. Use RA, Madeira or Coats. If you are stitching designs that don't stitch out the way you would like them to, it will be the threads.

I have 3 thread stands and my thread still breaks. I have changed thread brands about 5 times, still breakage. I also use Organ needles. Everyone is raving about MetroEm thread, guess I'll give that thread a try.

I bought the 116 spool kit. I finally got to use it. It works great. I have a Drother 2500. As a matter of fact it was on sale the other day for .50 a spool. I bought when it was .75. I see it as it was less than $100 inc. shipping for all the spools.

Glad that works ... I'll keep that in mind.
