There is no way to change something - when those that feel that it should be as they want it are around - so when you don't see me posting or handing out flowers - that is why. Have fun and enjoy it while you can - but as I see it - I am not wanted or needed in that area.

I always need you no matter what. I have not been around alot due to new job. I understand and will keep you company here as I would miss you. Loads of Love Lisa I would put a bunch of flowers her but cant figure out how. And thanks loads for putting up that pic of design for me.

I truly respect the opinions of others here at cutie. I was trying to post freebies for awhile, thinking I was helping others, but have backed off after all the controversy! I do have to say I'm somewhat confused, though. I went back a year or so looking at messages before I knew about this group. And a lot of the messages were about free alphabet hunts as well as many posts tracking flower numbers of contributors and urging flower votes. So I'm wondering what has really changed? At least now there are more labeling options that should help, if they are used correctly. It did appear from my brief look that there were more posts regarding general embroidery, so I can see where people might wish there was more of than now. The other thing, with the economy the way it is, there might be more people looking for free designs right now, and there might be more digitizers giving away free designs in the hope it will bring in additional sales, so maybe that's part of why there are more freebies being posted?

Just my two cents - and you know what that will buy!!

I've read with great interest all that has been posted here by everyone and have ONE question please!

EXACTLY WHAT is supposed to be posted in the following section :

COMMUNITY : TOPICS : designs :

(Refer to LH side please)

Because as I understand it, it states there under Popular Topics :

designs :
digitizing free freebie freebies .... etc

Under General
Hunts.... etc

So this is where I have been posting my 'Listings' - ALL my tabs are in DESIGNS , FREEBIES and then may have 'Alpha or Hunt. I DON'T post ANY Freebies in General or anywhere else.

I was lead to believe that THIS was the correct procedure from a PREVIOUS instruction posted by a Cutie.

I also understood the Bookmark Section to be for 'Permanent' Free Designs and not for Freebies that are 'once off or Hunts that change all the time - if I am explaining that clearly. Or was I wrong?


Anyway, Who are WE to decide who is right and wrong? That is up to Ms Veronika to lay down the law so to speak! And until she does I will continue to post as I have done! If I'm incorrect or posting in the wrong place THEN I think that the OWNER of this website should inform us ALL as then there will be NO animosity OR BAD FEELINGS amongst us all NOR will there be people leaving the Group either!

I suppose a lot / majority of you will most probably not like me for posting this but I have kept quiet about this but I do feel that this has been aimed at me in some way!

But you know.. If that is how you feel.. That is fine by me too! I have noticed that there is definitely a 'clique' here on Cute! I will NOT be losing any sleep over it as I have enough family & health issues to still have to worry about this too! I come here to enjoy myself and 'switch off' to my everyday life! I must say that I have ALWAYS thought of EVRYONE as my 'CUTE FAMILY & FRIENDS'!

After all - aren't we all grown ups and aren't we all supposed to live in PEACE & HARMONY! The Majority of us are Christians - let's all act like Christians and stop all this nonsense! But if that is not to be then I was sorely mistaken and I will just continue as before and ignore the negative vibes!

I will wait and see what happens!

There are many different Forum Formats and the site owner can pick and choose what type of categories they want for discussion purposes.
And yes, Veronika if unhappy with the way things are going here now and where things are posted is the person who will make those changes...not the members. This is after all her site. Special *4U

Dear Shirlener, I also find it sad that this is happening to cute. When I look at the community section I'm left with the impression that it is all a chase for flowers, what makes me shake my head even more is that I find a well loved cutie sharing freebie links in Bookmarks only to be copied to the letter by another cutie and posted in community. ?????! Anyway, I'm glad you're not leaving, at least I have your projects to look forward to, thanks for always being the lovely person that you are, hugs!

Vix, you sure have been observant - that is the trouble - with the posting in the two sections - the bookmarks - was in fact set up - so that the postings of other web sites and freebies would be put there and allow the Q & A area to be free for all the embroidery and sewing comments and suggestions - now there are in both locations - why??? Who knows and who will take care of it? It is rather sad to say the least. Thank you for your comments!

I think that should change, freebies in bookmark, so everyone would be happy, and community just a section for helping, and ask questions. I'm still hurt by the last comment about posting your own website, I wouldnt need to read that if the things were in its place. Hi Shirlene, I'll be returning in 2 days, and havent seen any changes. Have you contacted Miss Veronika about all this problems? I saw a good suggestion on communities to change the name Bookmark to Freebies, maybe that would be the solution for this. Love, Yoriko

Well I agree with everyone of you, just thought I too would keep my big mouth shut. I find it very hard to find raels posts for people`s birthday`s now. So if I missed any I am sorry. All I see is freebies freebies freebies. We all do enjoy the freebies but if we went into every one of them it would take all day....I have to sift through so many pages in community looking for ideas and tips........

I put a posting in bookmarks last night but its been put into the 'freebie shuffle' since I posted. Think I like freebie 'soup' too

I do enjoy finding the freebies, but when I first came to this site they were only listed in the bookmarks section. I truly wish it had stayed that way. I search 2-3 pages back for questions and check the tips tag to give and recieve advice and tips. I try not to perpetuate the link giving. Maybe those of us that feel this way can continue that and hope things go full circle.

May I please join you Cuties who are going to post in Personal rather than the overmonopolised Community section? I too have watched the hijacking of the General tag with dismay for some time past, but perhaps it will go the way of Bookmarks and be less used when the the interesting community topics disappear completely from there. I have always scanned Community and enjoyed all your input, even gleaned many hitherto unknown tips, so I wish to be like a migratory bird and fly the coop to Personal with you all if permitted.

Dear Shirlene,

I am relatively new to this site as I only joined in Jan/Feb this year and I, for one, love seeing your comments on here. I am so thankful for all of you ladies and gentlemen who have so much embroidery knowledge. I hope people will read your comments and take note.

Yes, it has become frustrating going to the general posting as there are a lot of free things being offered, but I only look for the helpful suggestions to people's questions, because sometimes I too may have come upon that problem.

I too wish Veronika would do something - but it is up to her to mediate and I am sure she is aware of what is happening.

I don't want any of you fabulous digitisers to stop commenting - don't give up - it is only a minority doing it and in the end the majority has to win out.

I love coming to the Personal column as it is there you find the true meaning of love - just being an ear to someone else's problem can be just what that person needs at that particular time.

Thank you for your thoughts on this and I will look for you in the Personal column too.

Well, we could either put our embroidery ideas/helpful hints all under the personal catagory or maybe since we already have 3 catagories (public/personal/private) we could have a 4th called emb/hints? What do you think? I've been here since the beginning and now I just skim over the free stuff and look for questions or helpful info.

Lauris, the bad thing is - there are three tabs - the Q&A should be used for that - not the other way around - the other web sites and freebie postings should be in bookmarks - that was what it was set up for - if there is another tab - it could be for web sites & freebies - not the other way around - the main posting should be about sharing of embroidery & sewing idea's and tips.

I remember when you posted to us ages ago about posting in the correct places. And I thouht well I don't like doing the wrong thing so I was very carefull. And recently I thought of saying something about all the free links in the 'general' and should be in 'bookmarks' but I said to me 'no shut your mouth' anyway I am glad to see you all have noticed also. I to pick and choose where to go on Cute also so that is it goood for me....
You are right, there is always going to be some who will do their own thing anyway...we must not lose sleep over them huh? Glad you are staying shirl....

Hear! Hear! If only people would put the correct tags on their freebies then perhaps we could all just browse General then.
I refuse to give flowers for anyone posting freebies, haven't done so in months because as i see it, I would be rewarding them for taking business away from Miss V, and after all she has done for us, i think THAT is just downright rude.

Yes, I too, get very angry at the number of freebies posted time and again, to the same sites, over and over and over, and except for the very dear friends i have made here I had considered leaving, but then thought, that would only be giving in to those who are hell bent on ruining this wonderful community.

I really do wish Miss V would take more control and make some definite rules for all to abide by before it is too late.
Until then, I am not posting any more of my designs in designs by Cuties. There are already too many freebies being offered here and if all everyone wants is rubbish, then they are welcome to those instead of the quality designs I try to offer.

I feel exactly the same - too much freebie hunting and no way to see the tips offered or sewing questions asked. And an endless desire for flowers. I did post a design the other day, although I had not done so for a long time. I'd like to share what I've made, not just keep it for my own use. I have had a look at the designs posted and apart from a group of excellent digitisers there seems to be a lot of rubbish around. And people hardly ever give feed back after using the designs - apart from some in projects: great quilts made with tubby's alpha and garments made with meg's designs - so you wonder if they are ever used or just added to a stash of freebies just for the sake of collecting.

ALL I KNOW...is that WITHOUT....CUTE...I would be in the nut house!!!

I too feel the same as you. The site has changed so much and does not relate to what I want in this forum. I learnt a lot from the cuties on embroidery when I first became a member but the hints and help does not seem to be happening very much now. I don't come on a quarter as much as I used to and I miss the "old" cuties that used to give out all that advice

I understand the feeling completely, Shirlene. I hang out in Personals more than in the general community, because it's 'gimme, gimme, gimme' for so many posts. Seems like a contest who posts the most freebies, or who collects the most. I surely understand that everyone can't pay for every design, I sure can't either. But so many that are posted are just badly auto-digitized garbage with 50 jump stitches, and everyone gushes their thanks for them. Do they even look? I'll be hanging out here with you in Personals, I'm so tired of trying to fight the current. For what it's worth, I got a real laugh from a newbie's post, suggesting we have a category for help with projects & sewing, hee hee hee. That's what the community was set up to be, but is no more. And I don't think there's anything we few can do about it. Love you, Shirlene--Marji

I agree, you have to read through alot of stuff just to find sewing/embroidering questions other Cuties have asked, which is what the community section is supposed to be for.
