Google is an extremely powerful search engine, and it picks up on key words in your post or project, and matches ads to those keywords. Doesn't matter if they're tags or not. And, like Martine said, most of the ads are USA, but does take countries into account. What it does NOT take into account occasionally is appropriateness to the entire subject, not just the keywords. I'm still laughing over the google ad that came up beside one of Tubby's Chubby Ragdolls in Designs by Cuties for "Chubby Gay Dating", hee hee hee, sorry but some of the gals were offended, I thought it was hilarious. To be very clear, Veronika, or any site owner for that matter, has NO control over which ads come up from Google, they are not approved or endorsed by the site, they're just there. If you want your site's ads to come up, then you have to take everyone else's. Most of the time they're for reputable companies, like Embroidery Library and Fabric.com, but sometimes some shady ones sneak in under the Google police radar, I guess. Always have to make intelligent choices about these ads. Cool question, Chris, glad to be of help. Hugs, Marji
Chris, I believe that it has to do with your tags that you put with your project - the words that match close in google - as we do have a google search engine with this site. I may be wrong - but that is my opinion and my guess. Hehehe! *4U
You are right, google matches it. And it takes your country into account too, however, most ads are USA.
did not notice it yet, and I don't have any idea if it's meant to be or if it's a coincidence.so, good question.
