to be finally getting on with making them.

It has been frustrating not being able to get around properly with my leg in plaster as my wheelchair won't fit in my sewing area and you can only do/carry/organise so much if you're on crutches. And man, if you drop your bobbins all over the floor, it's almost impossible to get down and pick them up!!! LOL!!!

Anyway, I finally set up 10 ornaments in the large hoop and made a start on them.
I thought i could do 15 in the Majestic hoop but it says you can't fill the hoop across???? Guess I'd better find time to read the instructions?? :-)

Well, I have some quilt squares to pin together so I'd better get on with it.
Just had to share how thrilled I am with the beautiful ornament covers.
Hugs n roses, n much love, Meganne

Try the pantyhose over the vacuum cleaner hose and push it under the desk! Works well! Just make sure the pantyhose is secure so it can't go up the cleaner! ask me how I know that one.. I put it between the end of the pipe and one of the small attachments yesterday which worked well.

Oh--just thought of something--remember when Shirlene posted that video of how to get something out of the drain without calling the plumber? Use your vacuum cleaner to get those bobbins!

Wonderful idea to give the BC awareness ornament covers. You may be awakening a sleeping giant with the quilt making. It is a great passion of mine.;)

Have your DH go to the auto parts store and pick up bolt grabbers. There are magnetic ones, and spring loaded ones with prongs to grab things that aren't magnetic. Get both one for pins and one for other things that you drop.

where did you get the ornament covers? I have crochet patterns that I've started but none for embroidery.

Have put the link for the ornament covers, separately. Embroidery Library has quite a lot of nice ones.

Yes, I have some of those grabber thingies, but they're out in the garage!!! LOL!!!

Pretty useless with the bobbins as they rolled under my desks and the dog sent them flying further as her tail never stops wagging, it was so hilarious, now i think about it, but it wasn't when i was watching all the bobbins unravelling and rolling to places where i couldn't get down to with the plaster on my leg. What a hoot!!!

Well either buy more bobbins or hire a neighbor kid to find them:-)

Meg, can't wait to view this project - it does sound like they are going to be wonderful, too. Make sure you share the link - if they are that nice - everyone will want to know how to get them - be careful and realize what you can and can't do - I don't have the crutches issue - but I do drop bobbins alot - Hehehe! Can't wait to also see the quilt that you are working on - as well. *4U

The Quilt is a joint project as part of a group, we're making them for the Victorian Bush fire victims. I've never made a quilt so I figure this is a good way to start. The class is free, all the materials provided, we just make them to give away so will learn as we go.

The BC ornament cover designs were a gift purchased from Embroidery Library

They are stitching out beautifully.

What a wonderful cause - I would try to do a quilt that way first, too. I have only made small items and never anything big - but I want too. Keep working on them - they will get finished soon. *4U
