try this
http://answers.cuteembroidery.com...
take the first offered (with exe extension).
You will like it and it is free and I never used WinZip since I have this- it is much more comfortable and opens both types.

I use The Extractor 1.4.1 and it is a batch "un-ziping" program. It unzips both zip files and rar files and will either unzip the zip/rar file and delete it or keep it. You can unzip multiple files from multiple file locations and it will unzip the files back in the origination folder...so if you unzip rar files you have filed in the Christmas file and unzip rar files you have filed in the flowers file, the unzipped files will be unzipped to the origination file...Christmas files in Christmas file folder and flowers file in flowers file folder. It is great for unzipping multiple zip files. Saves me a ton of time. It is free and has lots of bells and whistles for a free program. You put 20-50 files it the window press GO and the unzipping and file sorting takes place within seconds. I love it!

a rar file is another form of zip file or compression file. It squishes the data down and the unzipping allows the "expansion" of the data. It is used to transmit data quicker and easier via the internet, etc.

Thank-you for the information.

why is it beta? will this mess anything up with my xp unzipping files? I do have some rar and ISO files I would like to get to.

beta means that it is in developmental stages and the program may be evolving as users decide that newer features are needed or things don't work the way they should and would need fixing.
