how have you holidays in the USA? (religious or otherwise) ???

In France, we have 10 official days:
-New Year day
-Easter and monday's easter
-Labor day (1st of may)
-1945's Victory day (8 of may)
-thirday's ascension (21 of may)
-pentecost and monday's pentecost (31 of may)(monday is now working...since 2 years :o( )
-national day (14 of july)
-Toussaint (like halloween) (1st of november)
-1918's Anniversary (11 of november)
-and Xmas

Here in Ontario,Canada We celebrate the following;
New Years Day
Family Day 3rd Monday in Feb.
Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
Easter Monday for schools,banks,gov. city offices are closed
Victoria Day, closest Mon.before & to 24th of May
Canada Day July 1
Civic Holiday 1st monday in August
Labour Day
Thanksgiving, 2nd Mon in October
Remembrance Day only gov.banks and city offices are closed
Christmas Day
Boxing Day Dec26th.
We also celebrate Mother's, Father's and Grandparents Day. They are not holidays.

Adding some to Judez:
(otherwise) Martin Luther King Day, Halloween, Flag Day, Arbor Day, President's Day, Good Friday, Lincoln's Birthday, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Boss' Day, Secretaries Day and probably some more. Some are State, Federal, School holidays. Gee, I don't think we have enough! All sponsered by Hallmark!

In Illinois they used to have Washington's B-day AND Lincoln's B-day...Now they have combined it to "Presidents" Day"!! the schools here have MANY more "holidays"...

Sometime in January is Martin Luther King Day
The 2nd Sunday in May is Mother's Day
The 3rd Sunday in June is Father's Day
The 2nd Sunday in September is Grandparent's Day

acutally Washington's Birthday is February 22 - Lincoln's is February 16 - but we celebrate a President's Day officially instead of the two different days.
