The pieces feel like they are approx. 1/2" wide. They bend put snap back straight. I have looked online but cant find anything.

Best way to find out where to get them would be to go to your nearest spectacle shop and ask them to give you contact details for their spectacle case suppliers, of course you should explain why so that they don't think you're trying to do them out of business.

I have a spectacle case like this and I am now just curious enough to pull it apart and see if there is a manufacture stamp on the metal.

A good substitute is to use a piece cut from a metal tape rule - the sort that 'spring' back into a case. Cut to length, has to be full width round the corners and insert so that the pieces are back to back - )( like so. Not my idea, credit due elsewhere. Sample I saw used a 12" wide bag and appeared to have wadding in the channel with the metal tape.

if you use the extending metal rule then be sure to place them back to back so that you get the spring back that you need to close the case.

I plan on making my own cases. I figure it will be a great way to use up smaller pieces of fabric and maybe incorporate some of my test stitchouts. I like the metal tape measure idea. My husband kept thinking he had seem something that would work. As soon as he said it I remembered the slap bracelets that were popular a few years ago. I am going to try and find some and try it out.
