looks very nice.. lots of work .. I have never tried to do anything like that.. how long does something like this take..??
how long roughly did it take you to sew it?
Actually, I got it done in two days. But since I work evenings, I really managed to get it all done in two mornings. The squares actually stitched out fairly quickly, and if I stayed on top of it, they were done rather quickly.
Waterlily, this is BEAUTYFUL! Loads of work but worth it. I know I have this design somewhere in "DUH" area (the place where all lost things go), seeing your work I'm inspired to go look for it and give it a try.
Honestly, it wasn't TOO bad to stitch out and put together. I just used the wrong "material" to stitch it on. I'm already 3/4 of the way through stitching out the squares for, what I hope,is the much nicer one.
My dear waterlily, this is beautiful, I've bn considering stitching this out but it will take so long & at present i'm over extended. Why did u use the foam for such a beautiful piece. Was it just to experiment? I'm anxious to see the one u r doing now on the suede. *4u
I had done some XMas designs onteh foam, and liked the results. This foam was just teh color I wanted, so I thought I'd give it a try. I know now, to stick with smaller pieces for the craft foam. LOL!
Colleen, it is stunning - now why did you choose craft foam in the first place and is there a way to weight it down and make it flat? Such a shame to do all this work and not be able to use it. *4U
Well, when I stitched on the craft foam, before, the foam puffed a bit around the stitches and almost had an embossed effect. SO...I thought it might look good with this design. BUT...I was wrong. LOL!
OH...another reason for choosing the foam, was because there would be no fraying edges and I could just zig-zag the pieces together. When I try to sew squares together with seams...I NEVER get my corners to match, no matter how much I try!
