The design itself turned out much better, but my trim didn't work out too nicely. UGH!! I have been sewing since I was a small child, but I can't match up a corner, or make mitered corners. Maybe I should take some lessons.

I'm waiting for our local quilting shop to have a work-shop on Mitered corners, they will let me know and I will try to attend if I can. (You can buy a Mitered ruler now which makes life much easier I am told) *4U

Is this the faux suede waterlily? I cannot see it too well but it looks like u have don.e a nice job. The former blue made it show up well. *4U

Wow, I didn't realize this project was so large. Don't put your self down. This was quite an undertaking!!!

Waterlily, this one is also nice, though I like the blue one better.

Looks nice, and I certainly know what you mean about mitered corners. It took me 4ever to learn to do them. Now they seem easy to me, but it took lots of practice and trial and error. BTW isn't this design supposed to be freestanding? Just wondering why you're stitching on fabric if it is.

I thought it was freestanding! I believe when I downloaded it,it said it was freestanding lace. BUT...Once I stitched it out on WSS....it was obvious that it was NOT freestanding lace. It is all cross stitch.

You're right. I just checked and the designs I downloaded a while back are not freestanding. I thought they said they were but I guess not. Oh well.

Your design is very nice! If you can't do mitered corners, perhaps do corners like a quilt square. Sew evenly cut 2" strips to the short side, then the same strips to the long side, trim and hem. Maybe not as pretty as mitered, but square. Looks good anyway, maybe you could frame it in a poster frame, too. Hugs, Marji

Thanks! I will keep trying. But I think I like the idea of the quilt square trim. too.

Looks great. Mitering corners is not that difficult once you know the best way to do it; stitch the sides to the sewing line, don't stitch the seam allowance. Then you have room to manoevre.

See, I thought I did that. I think I really need to do some serious measuring to make sure my angles are all exactly the same.

Colleen, this is stunning and you say you stitched this one what sort of fabric? *4U

Thanks Shirlene! I used that fabric that kind of feels like suede. I think they call it Micro fiber, or something like that.
