Origianlly I was going to put a ruffle on the bottom but changed my mind and was comenting that it's gonna be a bear when it comes time to wash and know what he comes up with????? Ready - he says why don't you put a zipper down the middle with a little flap over it like mens pants and then you wash half at a time!!!!! MEN still giggling but can't let him know, thought it would give you a sunday morning grin........

FUNNY! I just take my quilts to the laundry mat where they have extra large machines to wash them in. Then I hang them over a rail at home to dry.
I used to have a front loading Maytag washer that worked well for washing quilts, but it was a lemon.
I loved it when it worked.

Not quite what I had in mind for making mine, but very close! LOL!

I've decided to make my sides removable, using sew on Velcro (hook and loop), so I can wash it more easily. Does that mean I am MALE-BRAINED???

sounds like something my husband would come up with. They have to 'fix' things even when we aren't really asking for a solution. Got to love him.

hey bikermomfl
Thats really funny. My husband rolls he's eyes when I get excited about a new sewing project. He told me that the next time I tell him about my sewing project. He'd make me listen to him. Telling me all about he's sports. kill me now hehe.

That's a good one! You need to find a way of keeping that suggestion with the quit for those future generations!

I'm with Marji, I thought it was a clever idea, too. I grew up with all brothers...so...maybe the guy side sneaks out when it comes to things like this :) And thank you for the story though I did get a grin out of it:)

Um, so much for my femininity, I thought it was kind of a good idea, blush. I've put ruffles and extra pieces on things with velcro, so they could be washed in pieces. What can I say, my dad was an engineer, and I think like him, hee hee hee. Hugs, Marji
