Raggedy Ann and Andy faces by Midge Flinn
I like to use tearaway stabilizer and sticky in my hoop and place the fabric directly on the sticky. I have had the best luck by embroidering the fabric first, then laying the pattern piece over the embroidered face and cutting the piece out from that. The 36" doll's front can be cut out first and then embroidered. If you choose to cut it out first, the center point of face design is 1" above line on pattern for placement of bottom of her nose. Find the center of that line on your fabric and make a mark 1" above that for the center of your face design.
Cut all jump threads and loose black and red threads on back; they'll show through on the face of the doll if not cut
10" - 25" dolls are best embroidered before cutting.
The centers of all the dolls' faces are right between her eyes.
25" doll - center point of design is 1/4" below top point of nose.
20" doll - center point of design is about 1/8" below the top point of her nose.
15" doll - center point of design is about 1/16" below the top point of her nose.
10" doll - center point of design is almost at the top point of her nose.
If you have any questions, email me (my email will be changing in the next week or so) or post the bbd.
