Hi Camy, have you decided if we are going to each make a whole quilt block, so she would only have to join the (ready made complete) blocks??
Or are we just going to embroider one 'square' and she would have to join the squares, then add the batting and the backing???
hugs n roses, m
IN THE PROCESS NOW...i THINK IF WE HAVE EACH ONE DONE BY THE END OF aUGUST WE WILL MAKE IT IN PLENTY OF TIME...
This is a good price, the quilter has a lot of prep work for the quilt to sit well on her machine than has to be with the machine the hrs of quilting, [how well it sits on the rollers also depends on how well the blocks are put together by the patchworker].
You wouldn't find that deal around here. But ask to see some of her work before you let her work on something you have put alot of work into.
You might also contact Senior Citizen Groups. A lot of the ladies get together and stitch quilts for people. My ML joined one group and they did mine for $25. That was a few years ago so the price might have gone up some.
I know around here the longarmers are charging Length x width x .o15 for a simple overall meander and then the prices go LxW x .020, x .030 etc. That is also how I charge for quilts done on the longarm. This will give you an idea of what the going rates are. If you have to send it keep in mind the postage and insurance. Good Luck.
Well, yes, maybe....Is she any good? Does she do that in just an all over pattern or can you guide how the quilting will be done. Is that will a long arm or is she doing it on a home sewing machine? An all over stipple stitch is not what EVERY quilt calls for. It's not a bad price if she is good and that is what your quilt calls for. Let us know.;)
Deanna, I don't know - hope some of the quilter's see this to help you out. *4U
yes that is a good deal around here most people get about $100 for a quilt to start after that for bigger sizes the price goes up
