Can i throw in an idea . Visit a thrift shop, purchase a bag. if you go to a pet shop you can purchase gravel used in a fish tank, the rest is easy. sew out a linning that will hold a plastic bag that the gravel can be placed into and then put the entire into the thrift bag no more problem with any leakage, just fasten the bag and place by the door. There you are. A door stop at a fraction of the price. plus helping a charity.

Sure you could make your own, any style you want! For the weight, you could use a brick, cushion it with fiberfill batting so it doesn't rub thru the bottom. Or sand, rice, pebbles in a tube sock, sewn shut. Whatever you use, make sure it's contained well, because if someone kicks it or a seam splits, you'll have sand all over the place! Another 'ask me how I know' answer, hee hee hee. Remember 'draft dodgers'? Yeah, well..... Good luck, Marji

What a cute idea. I checked out the links Shirlene added. Some cute ideas there. I wonder what you stuff them with? Rice, pebbles, sand????

Ruth
You are like me. I dont know how many times I have seen a craft item outrageously priced made for next to nothing. I always think I can do that myself and usually do.
Have a great day

Ruth, why don't you just make your own - if you can create the look of a handbag - that is what is important or you can always go back and check it out again - before you attempt it. Did you google it?
