Kelly also held two quilt shows, (metropolitan and rural) displaying the donated quilts and funds raised were given to the local Country Fire Association, who lost one of their trucks in the fires. Affected families were also invited to attend to choose a quilt.

India, what a great way to show how much love and care is in the greater Aussie community for all those who suffered in the fires. Well done!!! And the quilts pictured are stunning, and very practical especially at this time of year. Hugs Claire

Thanks for posting these "India" great cause - I was praying for all those families. I lived through the Ash Wednesday bushfires when living in Victoria and I thought there'd never be another like it. Nature proved us wrong. God bless all those wonderful patchworkers.

Love and blessings Chris

I know how much time and effort goes into making a quilt, I've been patchworking for over 20 years - they are an heirloom!!!!!

Thankyou Chris, I don't think anybody thought we would go through another Ash Wednesday, but then we were hit with Black Saturday, so very very sad.

It was a wonderful show and some quilters continued to bind or sew quilts on the day.

People are so generous. With Victoria being such a cold State at times, these quilts would come in very handy....

The generosity was quite astounding after the bushfires. Australians donated millions of dollars to the fund.

It was a very humbling experience to see how grateful these people, who lost everything, were.
