I had some catching up too but alas, I found your article. It is now day 3 since I threw away my sweeteners and my chewing gum. I haven't sewed a stitch in 2 days, reason being I cant concentrate or see straight. Jasane added an interesting link, I noticed a 60 day test. That gives me hope since I have another 56 days to go before I reach the light at the end of this tunnel. The thing that gets me the most is that I didn't realize how I felt inside, now that I'm on healthier choices I hope to be feeling better and fit soon.
I have never been able to drink diet drinks, I found many years ago when they first came out that I got a headache whenever I tried a diet drink so have stayed away from them. Don't drink any kind of pop, tea and water are about it for me...
thanks!
anyone that I get this to is so important to me...Please pass this info to your friends and family...you could possible save someone along the way
Thanks for this. It is well worth reading the piece mentioned below. I have never bought coke or fizzy drinks for my family and my daughters preferred to drink water as children. There are many addatives to food and drink that I avoid. Coke is brilliant at cleaning metal like copper!
My friend years ago changed her son's diet and avoided some addatives and his health improved dramatically
When I was young and my parents were new immigrants from the UK they owned a dairy - the locals used to buy the large bottles of coke to use as Drain Cleaner. It worked well - put me off drinking it though. Also the fact you can leave a copper coin or tooth in a glass of coke and it will dissolve it!
They were living in Hornchurch I think just before they immigrated to NZ. Most of my relatives are still in the UK. Only my parents and mum's parents came out to NZ.
I have NEVER liked the taste of the "DIET" pop....My husband was diabetic and ONLY could drink diet...I tried to get him to drink the Koolaid but even that has it in it!!
Here is just one digitizers story about aspartame. If you start researching you will find many many similar stories about the dangers of artificial sweeteners. But people still use them!!!
Thanks Jasanne, what a great article. I stopped drinking Diet Coke about 3 months ago. I just drink water and Peppermint or Earl Gray tea these days. Love and blessings Chris
I have no idea if this has anything to with my severe arthritis but it is very possible. I drank diet Sprite for many many years. I do not like tea or any other soft drinks. During one of my Dr.'s visits I was asked if I drank diet drinks. I answered with more than a case a week of Diet Sprite. I was told to never drink another diet drink again. It was suggested to me that I replace it with Sam's flavored water. Well, I went and got some Key Lime water and that and coffee along with V-8 juice is all that I drink now. I did have withdrawal symthoms from the Diet Sprite but the taste of the Key Lime water is so much like the same thing that I did not miss the taste of my regular drink. I also drank blk. coffee from morning to night at the time I was drinking D.Sprte. I quit drinking coffee for 5 yrs. I only just started back drinking coffee about 6 months ago but do it in sm. amts. I have had severe arthritis for almost 20 years and nothing has helped that but I would hate to think it would have gotten worse if I had continued to drink D. drinks. It has been proven that they do cause alot of bad things to happen to your body because of their contents. My bone/cartilage deterioration did not reverse itself but I am sure I would be bed bound by now if I had not made some changes in my diet. Please, if nothing esle, get some material and read about the side effects and the damage that diet foods and drinks can do to you system. Linda
