I buy sheets hat are the same on both sides, have heaps of purple, then i put green or pink slips on pillows sometimes bright yellow.
You do it so that the sheet is put on right side down, so that when you fold over the top, the correct side is showing and your embroidery is done so that when you are standing at the foot of the bed you can see it in the correct direction. (as in a monogram)
Where is the auction!!! I want the 600 thread count sheets, don't care which way the embroidery is, hee hee hee. No, really, the embroidery should be so that when you fold the sheet over the blanket, the embroidered side shows. I know a lot of people who do it backwards, but I guess that's their problem, hee hee hee. I really like the idea of doing the same thread in needle and bobbin, then it doesn't matter, very cool. I'm going to do pillowcases like that, it will be very pretty and more 'finished' looking. Nice ideas, everyone, thanks loads!! Hugs, Marji
Thanks I liv in Mississippi and would be more than happy to get you some if you want and send them to you.
The way o put sheets on a bed has been a topic of argument in my husbands family every since i married David. The first time his folks came to visit the next morning his mom told me that she was suprised that I put the sheets on thier bed wrong. I said what? She told me that the top sheet on thier bed was upside down. I asked her to show me and we started the discusion of who does the top sheet go. I got out a book of edique that I had for ever and showed her that the top sheet is put on so that the design side or the pattern side is facing the bottom sheet so when you fold the sheet back over the blanket the design is showing and when you turn the bed back the top and bottom both look the same. I won but she still does it the wrong way. When ever we visit I always change the sheets before we leave and put on new sheets and they go on her bed the right way.lol
I hardly use sheets any longer, but have duvet covers. In the past I bought sheets and they were embroidered in such way that you could view them properly when the sheet was folded over the blanket, usually 1-2" above the seem.
Yes, Martine, my husband liked the duvet covers better, he hated the sheets tucked in, he liked his feet to be loose, hee hee hee. Hugs, Marji

If you use the same color of thread on the bobbin as on top it will look almost the same from both sides except for the mirror image. Then it will not matter which how you fold them. Use either WWS to sandwich the fabric (wws on top and bottom of the fabric) or a tear-away stabilizer.
bkd147, you know - which ever way you stitch them - the person using them - will determine - how they are foleded - why don't you use WSS and use the same thread in the top and bobbin and then it really will not matter - unless it has words or is a monogram. Hehehe! *4U
Thank You this helps and by finding this out I will know how or what to do. thanks for all your help
