Planning a set of kitchen tea-towels for my daughter who has just moved into a new home. She decorates her kitchen with vegetables and I have digitized my first pieces for use on these towels. Can't share the digitizing because I'm not certain of the origin of the art work . . . and since it won't go public I've taken an artist's prerogative (meaning I swiped it??????)

I have to make another "Winnie the Pooh" quilt. My niece is expecting again. This time it's a girl, and she's due on her brothers 1st birthday. Too close for me. Anyway, she has requested a quilt to match Kofi's. I'll change the framing colors, and design color, otherwise they'll be just alike. With my work schedule, the 8 Grands and 8 puppies right now, I think I'd better start ASAP!

well shirlene, knowing me if you do, I want to do a large quilt for myself, I purchased Baltimore applique designs from Lyn Kenny at Kenny Kreations here in Australia. So now all I need to do is pick base fabric and get a start on it. Had always wanted to make one by hand but machine applique will definiately see me finish it much sooner. I would also like to get in and finish lots of UHO's I have....some really nice ones I've started and some are even gifts. I am glad my friends know me well and are prepared to wait for them....Hugs Kerry

I'm working on a few appliqued tee's and some kids sweatshirts....inbetween wrapping 480 bars of soap, trying to ebay 3 bins of my clothing...and keeping my farmers market table stocked...lotion, candles...etc...etc. Summer rentals start at the condos that we clean. A two-day craft show over the 4th to plan out and stock. At least I have all my flowers in...well, almost! It seems like everything I do right now turns into a "BIG" project!

Hi Shirlene, I am still doing the guest house things, must be completed by the end of the month, I had to go and buy more things which I must put the logo onto and I have a box of the bottles waiting for covers and 8 more laundry bags, only 2 more bath-gowns for logo's.
Besides this project I'd love to do some Cute designs still and I have some birthdays coming up.
I have also just digitised 2 more logo's for orders - 1 is for a soccer club and the other is for a company to put logo's on ietms for gifts for there customer.
And I still have to do about 25 bookmarks - put this on hold for the mean time as it is only for Christmas
And a friend of mine wants me to do a few things for her 1st Great Grand Child - due in October.
I also have another family member getting married in November - And have been asked to do some things.
Well that is all I can think of now , without looking in my Dairy !!!!!!!!!!- Hugs Yvonne

I have just read about the other Cuties projects, and given them all a * and a * for you.
I'm off to bed now its 11.45 here.
Tomorrow I must be at my Daughters place by 8.30 to look after GD as she is going into the office for a meeting - although she is still on Maternity leave.
So I will have to catch up with my sewing when I get home tomorrow late afternoon.

shirlener88 by shirlener88 19 Jun 2009

Yvonne, how on earth do you manage - you have so many orders - how do you get them? Plus you have so many other things - that most of us - have as well - but you still get the big project done? I look forward to see you new projects and please know - I give out a * to each and everyone that makes a comment - whenever I am into that section - whether it is one that I asked or posted - if I get into it to make a comment - I give them all a *2. *4U

castelyn by castelyn 19 Jun 2009

Shirlene, it started as a hobby, I made gifts for friends and family members and they started giving me orders. My daughter and husband also give me orders for work colleges. I do there logo's for both firms. I get the orders "word of mouth" mostly, but I do leave my cards at a shop close by and they give them out if there customers are looking for someone to do embroidery. It does get a bit boring doing the same thing over and over, but I do other things while the machine is stitching. Just have to do alot of planning and time management. Hugs Yvonne

I will be finishing up burp cloths for our new grandchild (to arrive about Sept 23)and then will continue to restock the fsl angel wings and fsl teal ribbons for the Lily of the Valley Ovarian Cancer group. I am one of the Volunteers we are called "Day Lilies" - we come for whatever event or project happens for a day (one of my friends who is still going thru therapy started the group).
I do a white fuzzy fleece hat with either lilies on it or a teal ribbon wreath design around the top...each one is different.

When I get bored with that there are always little projects friends ask me to do..monogram towel, t-shirt/blouse things ..the list goes on....on Monday my daughter picked up the knit tops I embroidered for her. Right now it will be soo-o-ooo hot outside for the next few days (heat index of over 105) that I will probably spend more time stitchin' to keep cool! Alabama summers can be brutal.

I'm busy with a "3D Amazing Quilt" - Class I am doing with 3 other Quilting friends that we go thru to every 2/3 weeks on a Sat pm at a Quilt Shop in Jhb! I am usually exhausted the whole day as we leave in the am and only get home after 6pm! Take turns to drive thru etc!

Enjoying it and learning quite a few new techniques but some are 'trying' as I DON'T do handsewing and there is some although my teacher has allowed me to adapt a lot to machine sewing! HOORAY! I need to buy her an ENORMOUS pressie!

It is all on a BLACK background and it has vibrant colours as the teacher chooses the colours for us! Love it! Really something different as it is all her own designs!

I need to buy a wig as I don't have much hair left - really have been pulling my hair out at times - I love to work together and not alone when doing our homework - so that part I hate! So only get to see my friends one afternoon a week at our local Quilting Grp!

Enough... All in all I love it! :-)

I have one recipe that has been handed down to daughter in laws each generation for 7 generations. No daughters or daughters that wanted to can.

I started my next big project today. But it has nothing to do with sewing. I started painting my Mother's bedroom today. So no sewing until it gets done. I do have to do 2 small quilts by Saturday. Nothing hard, it's for the kids, so it's rather easy to do. I will embroider their names on the front of them. I'm doing them in glo in the dark thread. They love it. Of course, have several sun dresses to do for the girls. I just finished one a piece for them and one a piece night gowns. No embroidery on them, they would not wait on that.

Where do I start? hahaha. Chadd wants a new "heavy" robe with his GgtSgt patch on it. Have it digitized but can't find "heavy" robe material. He is very cold natured. Any suggestions? Towel set for my Aunt's birthday, embroider on a pair of jeans I have taken the seams out of. Christmas stocking for my new granddaugher. Last but a need to do, finish sewing up my embroidery samples into the quilt I am making as I do by test samples. I'm using the Kay Cotten Theory of quilting so its a work in progress but I am many I need to add and will have a quilt when I get it the size I want. Thats off the top of my head. I really need to write down what all I need to get done. :)

I am making aprons for our church. I plan on doing about 50 or so this summer before I go back to teaching the end of Aug. I also am making T-Shirts for my youngest son and his buddies. They graduated this spring from University of Minnesota Duluth. They love to play Texas hold-em and other Poker games. So these t-shirts will have cards and chips etc. on them. I have played with these guys and I loose right away. I don't have a poker face I guess. I am better at Go Fish and Old Maid. The Nice thing about these guys playing together is that they don't play for money just for fun.

That will keep me busy. Cindy

ashta, you will be busy - are all the wedding party in Portland or just the Bride?

They are scattered between Portland, San Diego, Kansas City and Canada. The US Postal Service should be making a profit from all of the packages being sent back and forth :) The bride is buying the fabric in Portland as they have the wonderful Fabric Depot there.

I got 4D Pro software, so I've got to learn how to use it. I'm going to start with the cross-stitch. I can't wait to learn it. I'm also finishing 2 quilts--I started one of them last year before I got my embroidery unit and the whole thing is appliqued with the blanket stitch. It is going to be cute! Maybe I'll be able to post this weekend. I also found a cute polka dot bib that I'm going to put the cute parrot design on. Boy--lots of stuff on the back burner too!
