After the design is centered right in the middle of the hoop, click on the "center design" tab. My 3D then marks the center of the design there in the center of the hoop where you put it. If you don't click on that tab, the program thinks it's still outside the hoop! THEN save it to take to the machine. Hope this helps
If you have software to open the design, try centering the design, save it and then try downloading it to the machine again.
Make sure your design width is also within the 4x4 hoop boundary as well.

I will have to learn how to center.I just did a design to see if it would work it was a 3.89 x 3.87 worked fine.I must learn more. Thanks didn't know it could be centered. I am fairly new although I have had this machine for a while. Thanks again
I have the 4-d reader writer kit. I didn't know you could center a design before you loaded it to machine.thanks I will study my books .All you cuties are so great
After loading a design, at the 4-d bar, if you click on "design" you see several tags, including "center in the hoop". Just click on it.
i dont know much about viking but i know one of my machines is a 4x4 and it will not stitch anything bigger than 3.92x3.92
