I did that and now I'm too afraid to turn it back on again.

After waiting 9 & 1/2 months to get it back from repairs, to have it break down again so soon.... I just can't bear it!

I want to try it again, but I know I should go to bed because if it doesn't work there's nothing I can do until business hours anyway.

Oh well, I guess I can't do anything now, if it starts clunking again it will wake Ray, so I may as well try and get some sleep and face the problem in daylight.

Sorry to bother you all, I just had to tell someone.
hugs n roses, Meganne

Well Cuties, I'm sitting here, drying my tears and facing the frustration of having to send my baby back to the repairers again.
I turned it on and it is still clunking, so defintiely something not right inside it.

It is a difficult situation as the original Elna distributers, WMC Jacksons, are the ones who have to honour the warranty, but of course Janome is now the Elna distributers.

So my machine goes back to Jacksons, they have to find out what is wrong with it, then they have to apply to Janome to get the parts to fix it. And of course, since this machine is no longer in production, Janome in Japan don't give two hoots how long it takes to send the parts to Australia. Especially since they didn't distribute the original model of this machine.

OK, I know I have the other machines I can use, but
I really love my Elna, it stitches so well and it has features I really like that none of the others have, but I'm beginning to think I should never have bought it, knowing that they (Janome) wouldn't be making this model.

Damn and blast! Why do companies have to change ownership and distributers, and discontinue making models leaving their customers in limbo???

I guess the chemo makes me more emotional but I was so ecstatic when i got it back in May, now I am totally despondent again.

OH well, I'll say my daily prayer and get on with something else.

"God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference."

Thank you all so much for your support and suggestions, it's nice to have friends to talk to.

Hugs N roses to you all, Meganne

Oh Meganne I am so sorry to hear of this after the very long time it took for you to get it back..
Just 1 week w/o mine and 150.00 later mine is still not perfect but I did find out there was thread caught in the take up lever that caused mine to clunk and set off the safety device! Hope things work out for you! please keep us posted...and p.s. you are no bother sweetie...that is what family is for isn't it!

Oh Meganne, my heart goes out to you. I hope that it was just a power surge or something and that when you turn your machine on again, it will run like a dream. It's so frustrating when our machine goes on the blink. Repairs aren't cheap either. And I actually go through withdrawals when mine is in the shop. Please don't feel that you are ever a bother. We are here for you. Hugs and all good wishes. Please keep us updated. We care. ***

This is one of the reasons I log on every day. Nothing is too much trouble and there are always messages of love & support for we, the unlucky ones, with machine problems. BEst of luck.

Hope that your Machine gets sorted out in a jiffy IF you can't 'fix' it yourself! Sincerely hope it isn't anything major!! Nothing worse than having a 'sick' emb machine!!!
All the best!

Meganne, what kind of machine do you have, if it is different than mine, I do not want to make the mistake of ever buying one. I am very about your machine. hope it is something minor. H&*.

OOOhw Meganne what a disaster, waiting 9 & 1/2 mont h for the repair of your machine and than this happens. Try to get some sleep and look tomoororw if you can fix it, I do hope so for you.

Meg, turn it back on. I don't think it will hurt it any more that is already done!! I know if my Viking gets thread nests, it tells me "motor overload" and I have to turn it off and clean the threads out! If it's still the motor, I think that dealer and I would have a talk & if that doesn't work, go straight to the manufacturer. If THAT doesn't work, do you have a consumer advocate on your local news channel like several have here in Knoxville?? Sometimes bad publicity will bring them around!! Those things costs too much for them not to work!

Good night Meganne--hope it's better in the morning. That dealer needs to replace it. Let's all bombard him with emails! Try not to dream about it tonight, and maybe it just needs to be re-booted (or booted out)
