awful to be without a machine -Janome is a good brand and will support you with problems

Have you checked the plug of it? sometimes we just pull it out from the cord and this brakes little cables on the plug....Hey I done that with seing machines, irons, blow dryers,etc., somtehing very simple to fix.
Don't give up just take it to the Janome agent if you have one and they should be able to fix it for you.
They are a good machine, if you don't have a Janome agent near where you live a sewing machine person should be able to fix it for you
