If the design is not too detailed, the glad wrap press and seal works well to keep the towel flat during embroidery, I have used it but have no idea if it is a good thing to do...but good results
For a single color font, have you tried the Cowboy Lasso Font here on Cute? On a navy blue beach towel done in white, it would kind of look like a nautical rope, yes? And a big advantage, it has both upper and lower case letters. You could give it a test stitch, see if you like it. Hugs, Marji
Are u putting wash-away on top of the towel?. This will stop the embroidery from sinking into the towel. U don't need to wash the towels when finished, tear away as much as possible then use a pastry brush dampen & brush away the rest of the wash-away.
Thank you all for you ideas and helpful hints. I'm trying to do these beach towels...and each font I try is not great. I'm using navy blue beach towels with white stitching ..I have a Hus/Viking machine and am working my way through different fonts!
Who are the towels for? Babies, toddlers, children, teens, old folks (like me)? You have been doing this for a while. What is YOUR favorite font? Follow your instincts and not someone elses. Just IMO.
Hi
embroidery library has some new ones that are like 3d, or embossed that are really nice and on sale this week for $1.00 per letter.
Depends on who the towel's for. For children, I LOVE the "kids font" that came with my 3D. Looks like a child wrote it. I use Martha Pullen's 3 part monogram alph that is a download for members of her Internet Embroidery Club. It REALLY is well done & looks lovely on towels.
I love the embossed letters for doing towels emily but I have used a pretty big variety of alphas. I just find some I like & use them. Just make sure u test to make sure they sew out like u want them to.*
Yes I like the embossed letters also, especially when making towels for my "men"
Emily, I have done several towels and the font I like best is the KnightLeader here at Cute! It stitches real nice and it looks elegant and real neat. Hope this helps you. Also I like to do embossed for towels. **
I use different size's depending on the size of the towel & the design I'm using. If not sure best to pin a printout of the design u are using & the name, hang the towel up to check it out. Best of luck. *4u
Hello Emily, if you are wanting an elegant font not too thick I like Cute's Golden font. Upper and lower. Sandra H.
