bell rang & she yelled, "They're here!" Went running to the door..it was a neighbor! She does NOT know we are coming, but was so sure we would. NOW it will be a surprise, maybe. But I felt like a terrible mother with her thinking I am not coming to see her on her BD!! It's a 3 3/4 hr drive! Now I can hardly wait to leave here and get there!!

I saw that you have had a lovely day ad we also do things like that, don't say anything, just show up.In May we did this for a friend in England, we just asked his son if he wasn't going anywhere and didnt tell anything. The look at his face was our present that day. He enjoyed it and we have stay at his hous four 3 days. Friends are wonderfull.

How wonderful of you to do that Gerry. My Mum and Dad did that to me for my 40th drove all the way from Adelaide. (takes 2 days or more) I had a funny feeling though they would turn up, but not my sister! so that was an added bonus. I hope you all had a wonderful time - Mums are great aren't they?

Love and blessings to you love Chris

Had a great time with the "old" daughter! She was thrilled to see us all, we played games with the younger kids, then cards with the adults, ate at Japanese Steak House, had cake and shared love & stories! She really wasn't surprised, she said she knew we'd be there! Glad I didn't let her down! When she was a little girl there was no doubt I was the MOTHER, not her friend. But now she is my best friend. We do laugh about her hearing my words come out of her mouth when she's talking to her little girls! Was a good birthday.

What fun! My entire family (even the little kids) don't think they have properly celebrated their birthday until the WHOLE family shows up.;)

I miss my Mommy!! That's what she would have done for me, too. She had already passed away on my 40th birthday. I'm 61 and still miss her. You enjoy your kids as much as you can!!! Hugs, Marji
