It's the first time I see that plant, but with this situation (economy) I will need to plant one of those, in my house, my father's house, etc. Thanks for sharing your photos.
I see that is a money PLANT:) do they make it in TREE size???
Aren't they nice. I have some of those. I let them re-seed themselves. However, because of the direction of the wind they are moving more to my neighbor so I have to try to get them before the come off to seed them on my property.
Katy, thanks so much for sharing with us all, lovely pictures *4u
Katy, it is interesting plant, gorgeous. Never saw one in my life! I need to find some and start to grow some money too :) Love, Yoriko
Sweetie, I wish I could help you. Hope you find some work real soon. Keep praying that the next door you open will bring you work.
My mom had those all around the house. When we moved back here after she died, it was such a delight to see them come up and bloom then watch as they turned into "money." Seemed like mom had left them just for me. I love to share them with other people. Yours are so pretty & I know you love them.
We call them silver dollars over here in Aus too. My Mum grew them for years in South Australia. I must see if I can find some seeds and plant them. I love that they have purple flowers and then the next year those lovely silvery pods.
Love and blessings Chris
Also known as silver dollars here, much more attractive in the fall....
I have so many of these I weed them out. They are bi-annuals. So if you like them be sure to plant them 2 concecutive years or you will have flowers one year and not the next. We also call them Sweet Honesty, when they are blooming and Silver Dollar plants when the seeds are ripe. They are beautiful in dried flower arrangements. To bad they aren't real silver dollers:-)
Oh Deb, you probably know a whole lot more about them than I do. My sister is always giving me something to plant.
I have always known this plant as honesty. I have quite a lot of it in my garden, it is a biannual
es as are so correct. I just looked it up in my Southern Living Garden Book and it has it listed as both names. It does say Biennial.
Yes it seeds itself in late summer and grows tiny plants before winter, which blossom the year after.
That plant has a less flattering name in Dutch: Judas's penny. I love the silver grey seedpods in autumn, they keep all winter in all sorts of bouquets. Nice pictures!!
Oh, I just love Money Plant, I need to grow some here at this house!! Hope you cash in big, hee hee hee, hugs, Marji
I'm not sure about interstate commerce. whether one is permitted to mail plants and seeds without a license. Years ago I used to get a farmers bulliton and it gave guidelines because people sold seeds etc. Maybe I could send you some seeds. My sister gave me some seeds several years ago and told me to just throw them at the edge of woods in my back yard and now I have plenty. They come up in the spring and have a pretty purple flower. Leave me a PM message if you want me to send you some seed.
Kay, that is sure unique - thanks for sharing it with us. *4U
Well, that's one way..........Love your money Plant.
Please forward all proceeds to me, and I'll keep my mouth shut!
Enjoy the stages of growth!!! As you can tell, I have plenty to share!!
