I have had it quite a few times and know how frustrating it is. I use sticky stabiliser, so it is more solid. The outline often makes a design.
I have unpicked the worst sometimes to rescue and than done some by hand.
Do not buy from this person again if unhappy with results. Many good designs out there.
bunny, Mostly this happens when the stabiliser is insufficiently strong to hold the fabric absolutely immovable within the hoop. An intensely stitched design will have a lot of tension on the fabric because of the stitching wanting to "drag in" the fabric. This causes the small amount of movement, hwnce sending the outline off register, (because usually the outline is the last stitching completed. Also there is a limit of the number of stitches (needle punctures) that a single piece of stabiliser will withstand before it starts to break up and allow fabric to move. (This can be around the 10,000 stitches in the design stage) In this case 2 pieces of stabiliser- the second one being on bias to the first gives infinitely more stability. Otherwise try using sticky stabiliser, where you hoop only the stabiliser, and the fabric is stuck to the stabiliser. (In this case overly thick fabric is not sandwiched between the hoop pieces at all(and therefore stressing/distorting the hoop rings and maybe displlacing them, causing slippage), only the thinner stabiliser)). Alternatiively you might hoop two pieces of tearaway or "paper" and use a quilt basting spray adhesive or similar to make the 'in the hoop stabiliser' you have chosen - which in turn was chosen because it was the most appropriate stabiliser relative to the fashion fabric you are trying to embroider, to stick your project upon. Hope this helps and makes 'sense' for you. It will prevent the register of the outline moving. Cheers, mufti
i always face this problems nowadays so i really DREAD of outlines...... esp when i do them on towels and after much moving ard the hoop, the towel tend to come loose.
bunny i have done several designs that the out line did not cover the edges of the design or it covered to far in an really spoilt the design so in the bin it goes. i have no idea about digitizing so i can not fix it myself. now i enlarge the design in tajima and see if the outline is perfect around the edge. it is ashame because the design sews out perfect and it is not the way i hoop it. all the trouble a designer goes through to make the design it is really ashame that they could not do the outline correctly.
Yes it can be poor digitizing but it also can be how it is hooped and the stablizer you use. Try using a heavier stablizer or add an additional piece of stablizer by floating it under you hoop. The extra stablizer can fix the problem if it is just a stablizer problem. Don't pull your fabric once it is hooped. If it is not hooped the way yo want it, rehoop. Pulling on the fabric will also add to outlining problems.
If I was told just to leave the outline off, I wouldn't trust the design. Just my personal opionion.
I think that we all have had that happen. I had a digitizer tell me to keep fabric pens in multiple colors and fill in the missed area. But Lillian is right, it could have been the stabilizer or the hooped fabric. Do you have software? Sometimes you can take the design to the edit and see if it is actually in the digitizd design. I hope someone can help you. **
Sometimes bunny this is caused by the stabilizer we use & the way the fabric is hooped, then sometimes it's poor digitizing. Try test stitching on something else, a different fabric . I like felt for test stitching If it is the design & u paid for it I would contack the person I bought it from, they will usually fix it for u. *
I did I was told I could leave off the outline. But It doesn't look as good. Thanks
