I don't have the embroidery machine, but I do have a 6600 Janome to sew with. I really love it, and especially the threader function. I think it has only failed to thread once or twice. I have heard from a friend that the 300E is a very good stand alone embroidery machine. Happy sewing.
I'm so sorry your machine died! I hope you find a new one that you love.
Thanks, with all the advice I'm getting from you great ladies I've decided already to go for the Janome.

There is always a silver lining! I have a 300E and have had it for over 3 years now. I use it almost every day and it is amazing. I will only now purchase Janome and now have three machines. The 1600P for quilting and the 6500P. They are really work horses and very easy to use. You should love it.
Thank you for replying, it looks as though it's a Janome for me next too.

That's so kind of you. I'll get a coffee then sit back and read.

I have a Janome 350 and love it. It does have the bobbin sensor in it. It doesn't have the color screen but still like it alot. Have had no problems with it other then thread kept breaking. Lady on Janome yahoo group gave a tip and it works great, no more boken thread. Embro like a dream. Good luck picking out one you want.
Hi sorry about your old machine. I have the Janome 350e and it is great. It doesn`t have the colour screen that Marji thought it has but it does have the bobbin sensor. Four of my friends have the 350e too and none of us have had any trouble with them..Like Margi says, it works works and works!!! Good luck with your choice!!!
So many of you have mentioned the Janome 350E that I looked it up and I can get it for just short of £800 - that's 1.313USD - rather out of my price range at the moment I'm afraid. I've never had a colour screen so I guess I wouldn't miss it.

Sorry for your loss and thrilled for the new baby that will be coming home soon - I think brand is a preference kinda like mayo or miracle whip (yuk) so whatever makes you smile is the right machine for you, just be sure you have dealer support......
As I said to gerryvb the nearest dealer is far away but fingers crossed and I'll get sorted.

Grace, I have the Janome 300E, which is an embroidery-only machine, and couldn't be happier with it. The only thing it doesn't have that I would like is a bobbin sensor, because sometimes I forget and sew designs without bobbin thread, hee hee hee. I think the newer one, the 350E, has both a color screen and a bobbin sensor, but not sure. It has bot 4x4 and 5x7 fields, and can take a gigahoop. I also have the Janome Digitizer Pro software, so basically there's nothing I can't do. My Janome dealer is possibly the best in the world, make sure you have a good dealer! This machine is a little workhorse, it's not fussy about thread it uses, I never have tension problems, the machine just works and works. I didn't do too much research before buying, because I really have only 2 dealers near me, so I purchased the Janome because of the dealer, and have never been sorry. It's all metal inside, too. Good luck, Marji
Thanks so much for that information. The 350E is one that I haven't seen advertised in the U.K but I will look as the 200E only has a 5.5"x5.5" field and that's rather small after the 7"x5".

I'm so sorry to hear that! I hope you get a good machine soon! Love, Yoriko
Thank you so much Yoriko. I am keeping up with your Firefly alphabet but of course they are all in pes and if I go for the Janome I'll have to change them to jef. Ah! well, such is life!
