There is a piece in 'Threads' magazine Sept 2009 issue on using one of these, not read the piece in depth as only got the mag yesterday and its waiting to be read.
interesting info..........thanks I read them all........*4u all
I've got one, but it has been idling in the cupboard. Mine has a needle with 5 hooks, rather expensive to replace. Be sure you buy a machine that has a shaft wherein loose hooks can be placed, then you can replace just one hook - far more econimical.
Most of the major manufacturers make a felting machine like the Babylock embellisher. As with most machines, shop around for features and price.
Babylock has 2 embellishers. I think one model has 7 needles and the other model has 12. I'm familar with Pfaff and Janome's machines; both have fewer needles and are less expensive. As I recall, Brother and Bernina offered an attachment for some their machines that replicated the felting process. The attachment was NOT for all Brother nor all Bernina models.
Embellishers and felting machines are a lot of fun and it's something else that's fun to do while the embroidery machine it doing its thing.
Thanks Maeeast... I just called my dealer (I have a Baby Lock Ellisimo) and they told me that Baby Lock Tech is at the end of the month and they'll know more info on whether BL will offer an attachment. Gosh, if they do, I'm all over that! :-)
Thanks Teri, some great techniques - sure makes you want to try it, too. *4U
If you go to Nancy's site, click on "Techniques" on the top right corner... it's the first video.
I see her machine has a needle plate that takes 5 barbed needles, much better than mine that only takes a completed 5 needle unit!
