So sorry to hear about your Dad. Battling cancer is one of the hardest things to try to do. Prayers going out to you and your family.
Karen, I am so sorry to hear of your Fathers battle. We got reports back on Mom this week from test taken last week and although the chemo is slowing down the progression of the cancer and keeping her out of pain, it is not stopping it. We went into this knowing that this was the expected outcome, and are thankful that the chemo has lengthened her days, but know that in the not to distant future will be making the same journey. Please know that my prayers are with you and your sister and try to enjoy your visit with him. I am so thankful for the chance to be here, taking care of Mom. It is hard to watch, but precious to remember all that she does, says, and hoping that in some way I give to her one tenth what she has given to me. I have a brother who lives in Allentown and he to has to travel home to see her and always fears that is may be his last. But we know that he is here in thought and that is what counts. Prayers and Many of God's Blessings, Libbie
So very sorry for your Dad, you and your family. Wishing you a pleasant and safe trip down and back. Lung cancer is one of the tough ones and he will be on a lot of medication but through it all he will know and appreciate that you are there even if he cannot tell you so.
Where in Pennsylvania are you going?
I'm sorry to here about your father...I have lost to many to cancer.
I went through this terrible sickness with my father years ago....if you can, stay longer than a week - stay as long as you possibly can - perhaps that is not possible, if not, don't feel guilty - but, if you can, stay. I was married and a mom of a 1 year old, and in college at the time of my Dad's illness...and my advisor told me to withdraw from school and go home. He told me he knew I would be back to school but meanwhile stay with my Dad as long as I could. Mind you, it wasn't easy but I followed his advice and it was the right thing for me. Bless your heart - be patient with yourself. You and your sister - be strong for each other, I'll be praying for your whole family. Hugs, Laura
Karen, I am so sorry - I will be praying for you and your sister's safe travel and that the two of you have a good trip and that you help your Father in his final days. Remember all the good times and talk about them and the things that he has taught you over the years. Be strong my dear.
So sorry for your father's illness. I will keep you and him in my prayers. Keep up your strength and your spirits. You'll never regret a moment that you visited with him.
