I created a cake pincushion then decided to turn it into a wedding cake keepsake.

I made it from my wedding dress & veil. I added our names and marriage date.
I think these would make great gifts for new brides or for an anniversary.
You can see more photos of it here, including the names & date:

This is so cute! Not only for the bride, but perhaps it would be nice to give to the bridesmaids as thank-you gifts for being bridesmaids. Also for the Mothers of the bride and groom, etc. This is just a really super idea, I just love it! Hugs, Marji

Very nice--just couldn't cut up my wedding dress no matter how yellow it is. LOVED your Willie bathrobe from your gallery! And the casserole holders--very cute!

This is so pretty and unusual. What a great idea you had. I'd hate to cut up my wedding dress, tho. I think I'd pick up some lace at the fabric store or make my own. Very pretty!! How big is it?

Thanks. My wedding gown is over 30 yrs old. Even though I had it professionally preserved, it still yellowed in spots, etc. I've made several things from it.

It ends up being approx. 4.5" x 4" x 6".
There's quilting on it and our names, date & 'icing' are on the wide end.
