And my neighbors showed up with a sick kitten!! All for me, how lucky can I get? She'll have to get a new home, but I thought you'd enjoy seeing some pictures. She's been to the vet, got worm medicine, and medicine for her ear and eye infection, and good warm food in her poor belly now. I doubt that she's six weeks old. How can people do this, dump off innocent babies like this? The neighbors had to give her to me, Linda is violently allergic to cats, and didn't want to leave her out in the pouring rain on their doorstep. Really, I needed $100 vet bill. Say a little bitty kitten prayer for Polly, that I can find her a good home. She's a polydactyl, so I named her Polly. Hugs, Marji

Love you for loving the poor little creatures of the world. How tender and dear you have been to little Polly. A kitten prayer is heading your way with hope that you find her a good home.

Hope your latest addition Polly is coming along...you remind me so much of my daughter, she is up to 5 cats now and just can't say No to her best friend who works for a vet and is always saving a cat or kitten...miss having a pet now but will leave it to my Jacquie to take in the strays...hugs to you Marji x0x0x0x

Oh goodness Marji, I just lover her already! I miss my kitties so much! I can't have any until we eventually get moved (a friend tried to give me a kitten last week!). Rosie has a doggy door and I don't want my kitty going outside. Hopefully I'll get another one in a year or so.

Marji, I guess polydactyl means many toes but do you know why that happens. Is it due to inbreeding? Well she is very cute and what unusual markings, looks rather like an African wild cat. I used to always have a cat but now I live in the city and rent. Maybe when I retire I can have one again. Good luck to you and her.

Oh, sorry, Denice, yes, polydactyl means that they have extra toes. Not due to inbreeding, just a recessive gene, like the Manx gene for having no tail, or the merle gene that gives you a merle sheltie instead of a tri-color. Although, personally, I think since we invented can openers, cats are evolving thumbs so that they can open thier own cans of cat food!! As much as I love dogs, dogs would never have the sense to do this, hee hee hee. Hugs, Marji

You are a saint Marji. I have my oldest friend coming up from Sydney any minute now. I am going to show her this post.

She has 4 cats and 8 dogs at the moment. She does rescue work for animals. She is bringing with her 3 Sharpei puppies. I don't know how Bella will cope with this - she said she could leave them in the car whilst she is here, but I thought Bella might like to see some puppies! I'll have to wait and see.

Love Chris

Bella should enjoy the puppies, most dogs enjoy each other. Cats, not so much. Everybody hates Polly right now, they hiss at her under the door. I have to keep them separate, because I don't need infection spreading to the rest of the 'herd'. Dancer, my big neutered tom, loves kittens. He's sitting by the door, purring to her, waiting to lick her all over. He lets kittens walk all over him, bite his ears, pounce on his tail, and he just grabs them around the neck and kisses their little faces! When Polly is cleared by the vet, I'll let Dancer 'mother' her. Hope your friend has good luck with her rescues, too. I never mean to, but they seem to just show up at the door, sigh, wish they had bags of money tied around their necks. It's hard, but how can you not save a life? I love your graphics, especially the lovely Sheltie! Hugs, Marji

Thanks, Shirlene, for even reading this in the midst of your sorrow. Vet bills, ah, well. She needed help NOW, not in a few days when the shelters could figure out who was going to take her, etc. I've seen these infections go from bad to hopeless in a day, there's no time to wait, especially for babies. Too many die. Deal with it when the credit card bill comes, I guess, no help for it. Life is life, even in tiny packages, and it's all sacred to me. 'Specially kitties, hee hee hee. Hope you're doing ok, love, Marji

Here's the pictures. Look how tiny she is, next to 'pink mousie'! Then look how big her feet are, with all those extra toes, front and back. She's a sweetie. Her little eyes are still kind of half closed from the infection, but they're getting better every day. Anybody need a kitten? Hugs, Marji

Oh, Bev, I get attached in about one second, too late! I love her to death already, but 7 cats is too many, money-wise. My heart could hold hundreds, though. Hugs, Marji

I would say they are 7 very lucky cats. I hope you find the kitty a great home real soon.
