Make sure you click the bobbin thread into the bobbin case. So you can hear it click.
that might be it.I know because it happened to me once lol. Good luck
Thanks to all for their answers, my closet cutie friend is having problems and I was going to ask for help BUT here are the answers. Next time I visit I have to take a small screwdriver as hers is missing so she can undo the throat plate and clean up, otherwise its a 2 hour one way journey to the dealer
Bunny, to remove the throat plate there is a little space near the front. You should have a brush with a little piece sticking out on the OTHER end of the brush. Put that under the throat plate in that slot & turn a bit & it will pop up. Check your book under "cleaning machine" OR "throat plate." I know the Rose, D-1, and SE all have that little slot.
o.k. my face is red, after sewing for 30yrs. and 2other machines,i got used to cleaning and repair my self I didn't read that far, I did take the plate off and clean under, done a few stitches, but i am going to redo the one that was giving me problems, I didnt adjust the tension yet will try it if this doesn't work thanks to all here's flowers for each.It helps to have someone else to ask. Thanks again to all.
i have that problem every now and then I have checked all the tensions and they are set correct. it will do a certain colour and not another, if the tesion i had was incorrect it would happen to the whole of the design and not just one area.
Bunny, your throat plate is probably removed by pressing on a corner. It is usually defined by concentric circles or some such marking. Just press rather hard on that particular corner and it should pop up. You cannot see all the way under it and can't clean it properly without removing it completely.
Bunny, Ishattles has given you one of the most important bits of information you need. I had horrific problems with my machine off and on till some one told me to ALLWAYS THREAD MY MACHINE WITH THE PRESSURE FOOT UP. It is very common for dealers to forget to tell new owners this important point. I had even forgotten it myself when I first read your post. I think that is probably your issue. An easy fix.
The top tension is too low, the tension tighter and tighter span the substance in the ring, the substance with pins so that the substance does not slip!
sory for my bad English hope it works!!
also sounds like bird nesting, oesd and designs by sick had a tutorial on this, always thread needle with presser foot up, it has something to do with tension
I'm with these girls... sounds like you may need to adjust the tension and clean out the bobbin case. I have a tool I attach to my vacuum cleaner and clean the lint out of mine quite often. :-)
My tension is on 3 ,I can see under my plate I took a brush and dusted there is no screw to remove the plate and it won't slide, I need to call dealer I guess thanks
try on a test piece of material try putting the tension to 2.5. check it , if still doing it turn to 2 and check again keep changing the tension until you have no loops. have come across a few designs were i have had to change the tension to get them to sew right. lin
I have a scandinavia 300 Husqvqrna viking.I need to call dealer and ask. The tenison is already set. I don't want to move it.Thanks for all the input.
Bunny what type of machine do you have. Maybe some one with the same model can give you some more specific advise.
It is a tension problem...and causing YOU tension too! The first thing I do when that happens is completely unthread & re thread the machine...both top & bobbin. If your machine is a computer machine, also turn it off and then back on to let it recalibrate. It's usually my top thread that's come out of the hook thingy! If you've cleaned it, rethreaded & it's still doing it, you need to take it in to the shop.
You should not have loops on the back. It is not from a particular design. It is due to trash in the bobbin case or incorrect tension.Try cleaning everything out and remember to remove the throat plate to clean under it too.;)
I know how you feel it is a tension problem i have cleaned all the fluff out of the bobbin area changed the needle and tried changing the bottom tension till getting it right. I have stopped the looping threads now that i have the tension on 3 ,now i have bobbin thread somtimes comming to the top. Sooooo this morning i will be taking my machine into my dealer Janome to ask them to show me how to put it right.***************for you
Well my machine is in now in the house sick to be repaired after spending quite sometime this morning trying to sort out the problem,it is the tension. Janome is the best repair place in my aera,so hopefully i will be able to colect it soon.
sounds like a tension problem. Mind was doing that and I took it to my dealer and that was the problem. *4u all
It sounds like your bobbin thread came out of the tension slot. Try re-threading it.
I have never had this problem. Could it be something with the tension?
