I have a son that works at the Del Mar Race track. His name is Ron Williams. If you go there and happen to see him, say Mom says HI. You are going to have a lot of fun. I lived out in San Diego for 31 years. Moved to Kansas 4 years ago.
What does he do at the track? That would be a fun place to work. Not that I would get any work done there ;)
I enjoy the beaches. I like the ones with cliffs and tide pools that you can explore. Not overcrowded ones!
My partner will like the zoo and local history. We both enjoy quilt shops.
Our son (17) will like sea world and the zoo too I am sure.
Only 1 of us likes sea food. We would like to find a good sea food place that can also make other dishes well.
None of us are into the bars or downtown night life.
oh shoot u need to go visit simplyrosie( teri) wow i myself would love that have fun and meet up with some cuties they are great
Oh Mary, wouldn't we have a blast!!!! Gosh, I'd have such a gut ache from laughing!
Me, me! I'm close to Del Mar (15 miles or so). There are a couple of people on CUTE from Oceanside I believe.
There are so many things to do here, but definitely bring your shorts! It's been rather warm. I was at the Del Mar dog beach on Saturday and it was 80!
PM me and we can chat. :-)

Definitely go to the La Jolla cove. There are great places to dine, but it depends on what you're interested in. Little Italy features some of the best Italian cuisine, but if you're looking for the BEST NY style deli, go to DZ Akin's. They also have incredible hamantaschen (cookies we eat for Purim) and killer pastrami!!! OMGosh, it's out of this world!
Balboa park is fun, Coronado and Seaport Village.. Oh, and Old Towne is nice. That's just a start to some of the local attractions.
