Sorry to hear about your laptop. This happened to a friend about 10 years ago. The result was that I have always has my computer and embroidery machine on a surge protector to be on the safe side.

When I left for Pennsylvania it was on a surge protector. I think that my son & his fiance' were using it & they might've had it plugged into the wall at one or 2 times. So i'm really angry. Maybe I should've taken it with me.

That is very hard to take. Especially, if you use your computer as much as I use mine. I hope you have a library or a friend or relative that can let you use their computer until you can buy one. I hope that your embroidery designs are safe.

I will have to pay someone to get the files off of the computer. It won't be too much of a problem. I store most of my designs on cd's. But I did have a few on my desktop.
