I love my brother innovis 45ood...if there was ever a problem my dealer has helped me out. (mostly my error and learning on it)...The main thing is your dealer customer service and how they will treat you if something is wrong....Even if you get a good machine, at some point you will need service and that is where the money could add up also....hope you get one soon....
Hi Lynn, I have a brother PR600II, the predecessor to the PR620, and I love it!!! I have had it now for 18 months and have not had any problems with it. I also have one of the first brother embroidery machines the Super Galaxie 2000 and have not had a problem with it in over 13 years.
If I had any criticism of the PR600II it would be that the bobbin could be bigger as it seems to need refilling a lot.
I'm happy to discuss further if you have any specific questions you would like to ask.
Cheers,
Claire (Brisbane Australia)
I do have another question you may be able to help with...When you do lettering, Names etc, is it crisp and clear on the edges...My 350E doesn't give that kind of professional finish to lettering work...especially the small detailed letters..
Thank Lynn
Lynn, have you tried the built in lettering on your machine, then other digitized letters? I have the 300E, and the machine's letters are always perfect. The ones in Digitizer Pro, the already digitized alphabets, are really good, but some need good cutaway stabilizer. The ones I digitize from fonts are sometimes good, sometimes not. The script type letters are always the worst for me, especially in small sizes. Let me know what you find out, interesting problem. Hugs, Marji
Hi Lynn, Yes lettering is very crisp and clear on the edges of designs stitched on my PR600II. If you search the projects for a child's jacket (Fairy Jacket) that I posted you will see an example of the word princess. I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Claire
Lynn, I just re-read your message how small is the lettering that you have a problem with?? I will do a test stitch of that size and send it to you if you would like...
Claire
That would be great, soem lettering about the size 10 mm x 10 mm
Thanks Lynn

I love my brother and have a Brother sewing machine also which I've used for 3 years without a problem. I would buy another brother any day. They have given me the best of service. My sister also has one that she has used monthly for 3 or 4 years with no problems. To me, their the best.
Hi Lynn, I have an MB4, which I love. If you are thinking of getting one be sure and get it with the RCS unit. You can see your design on the screen and edit it, or rotate. Gives you time and number of stitches, count down. If thread breaks, it will count back ten stitches to where it broke. Or you can count back more if you need to.The only downfall is their hat hoop is not the greatest. I want to get the up-date for digitizer MB program, which is available now so I can use their "J" hoops. It is selling for around $600. here in Canada. I will then have seven different size hoops to work with.Hope this helps. Lynn in Ontario.
I used to have a Brother machine but it "died" so I'm on the lookout for a replacement. I've been advised to steer clear of Brother as they have a life of only 2 years before they are considered too old to repair cost effectivly. (Apparenlty Brother themselves scrap any embroidery machines over 2 yrs. old!) The same dealer - who has been in business for almost 40yrs - highly recommended the Janome embroidery machines as they had a 10 year life and the build quality was much better. Hope this helps.
I would be very interested in any information you could pass on - good and bad - regarding the 350E as that is the model I'm thinking of buying.
Thanks.
So far (about 1 and a half years) it has been a great machine...The arm had to be adjusted once and the machine serviced but I had given it quite a workout...
I have heard other unpleasent reports about Brother machines..leaves me a littled worried when you consider how much you are spending
Lynn
It sure does, that's why I've resisted going out and buying straight away, I'm really looking at every option and trying to get demonstrations on the machines - not easy in my part of England as much of the sales are mail order or viewed and quickly demoed: at a show.
What is the largest hoop for the 300E, is it the 7 x5 ish?
I've just looked at the price of the MB4 and it's £4,495 sterling and the Brother is £5,645, wondering how prices compare with either US or Canadian dollars.
Yo.
