Hello in Australia we call this a Ladybird. As in the childrens rhyme Ladybird Ladybird fly away home
Your house is on fire your children are gone
So ladybird Ladybird fly away home.We say this while we hold a ladybird on our finger and encourage it to fly. Regards Joyce Cox
This looks lovely ! We call it a ladybird. To Americans,it is a lady bug. Thank you for it. Julou.
I saw one post that said Ladybugs bite. They are actually good bugs, very beneficial, and do not bite. But there is another bug that looks almost identical to the lady bug called the Asian Beetle and they do bite. They are very destructive to crops here in the middle west and therefore are undesirable.
The English name is a Ladybird. The American name is ladybug. Bet you're getting fed up with being told now! Lovely design. What do you call it by the way?
Thank you, we say,
Ladybug, Ladybug fly away home.
Your house is on fire,
and your children are alone.
I do not know why we say this it is something I learned as a child. Haha!! H&*.
10, this is so cute! In Japanese is called "Tentou mushi" and there is a sweet children song for it. Thank you for sharing! Love, Yoriko
The English name is Ladybug. Thank you so much. It is beautiful. Margaret
Thanks for the beautiful ladybug. My daughter has them all over her place.
I used to read this poem to the children when little:-
"Ladybug ladybug fly away home,
Your house in on fire and your children are gone,
All except one and that's little Ann,
For she crept under the frying pan."
Thanks again for such a beautiful design. Love and blessings Chris
There is something similar in German but for another bug we call May bug (brown with darker stripes), may bug fly, your father is in war, your mother is in Pommerland, Pommerland is burnt, maybug fly
Thank you.It looks like what we call a Ladybird or Ladybug in Australia.
Thank you. They ARE called both ladybird & ladybug. But it's a BUG! However, a really good bug. We have lots of them around here. They eat the bad bugs. Some say they bring good luck..that's probably because they eat bad bugs & your flowers are prettier??
Beautiful... Très Joli!
Ladybug en anglais (in English) ou coccinelle en français (in french)
Merci
Thank you,
It's also called Ladybird !?
In French: "Cocinelle" and other language ?
