I had a pair of trousers when I was young and cool that were fully lined with silk, and they were just wonderful! I'm allergic to wool, it's itchy and makes me break out in bumps, so these trousers were fabulous and something I could actually wear. Now that I'm old and HOT (I've had these doggone hot flashes for 9 years now), I don't even want to think about wool pants. Generally I don't want to think about LONG pants, hee hee hee. Best of luck to you! Hugs, Marji

Many years ago I used to buy wool worsted direct from the mills. Tailored trousers are lined as wool stretches and the lining helps prevent the wool stretching. Trousers do not need to be lined. I used to make many pairs of wool trousers but have not done so recently. They were never practical with two small children (they needed dry cleaning - the trousers not the girls)
Lining trousers can make them more comfortable and make the trousers last longer as wool worsted is usually expensive.
Your comment on a full lining being 'so hot'... wool is a warm fabric anyway, a mounted half lining on the front leg might make the trousers cooler.
Ah just noted that there is lycra in the fabric, this will help keep the shape of the trousers so they will not get baggy at the knee. If you line then use a knitted/stretch lining.
I remember buying a beautiful pair of trousers years ago in a sale in Harrods in London
You have almost got me fired up to have a go myself so Happy Sewing and a flower instead
I just had a giggle at the thought of you marching your little girls into the Dry Cleaners, with cake and ice cream all over their faces and cloths, and asking how much the cleaning bill would be, hee hee hee. Sorry, I have the sense of humour of Gary Larson. Hugs, Marji
This is TOOO Cute!! I just love the humor here!
Seriously, I love working with wool and have hit some wonderful sales and clear-outs. I find natural fibers so much more comfortable and easy to work with..also embroidery and wool are a match made in heaven! Now if only I could find the same type of sales for silk lining!!
