I know this won't fix your machine, but you should get a piece of timber and attach it to the back of your desk to move it further away from the wall.
I have my embroidery machines facing the middle of the room like Peggy as I feel it is safer.
I hope you get your machine back soon, mine was in the repair shop for 9 1/2 months & it's been back there again since 25th June. Thankfully it's under warranty but it doesn't make me any happier that it's been in repairs 11 1/2 months in the 20 months since I bought it.
At least your problem was self inflicted (so to speak) so you know what is wrong with it.
While you are waiting for it to come back it would be a good time to get your embroidery design files all in order and make back up copies on CD or DVD's.
Just a thought! :-)
hugs n roses, Meganne
I have an l shaped sewing desk and it would be far roomier if I put both sections against wall like in a corner, but I don't have either section against a will, just one of the side ends. the back of my 11000se is toward the middle of the room. If there would be any possibility I would set the edge of the desk with the rest protrouding into the room.
My husband made four wheels under an old table and I have all my machines on top of that. I can lock the wheels wshen the table is in the middle of the room and can unlock the wheels again when put the table back in place. Of course I don't know if you have so much space to do the same. Hope your machine is fixed soon.
Sorry to hear of your misfortune. Moving your table to a different spot is now very necessary.
I think I'd take my machine to another repair place or say that I don't know how it happened...
Good luck with the repair. Hope you have your machine back soon.
I'm sorry to hear about your misfortune. It's easy to forget even an important detail like this one. I like visual cues myself: perhaps you can note the best location by putting a square of masking tape where the machine should be placed. If it's a table you use for other purposes and your machine cannot be left there, try putting a "post it" type not on the machine itself. I use these to remind myself of the needle size, which designs are on a card and in which place, etc. Don't know what I did without them.
Good luck, Anne
Yvonne, I'm so sorry for you! I'd be in panic if something happened to my baby! I hope you get it fixed soon, and follow Daisy advices :) Love, Yoriko
Things will get better I promise, I can remember the very first time mine had to go in the shop I was ready to run right out & buy another. Of course the cost stopped me. LOL You do feel as though u have lost your child though. I have done a lot of silly things over the yrs. & I still call my dealer/repair man saying "now Charles don't u laugh at me" he still does though & will say" what have u done now?" *4U
Oh Lillian I cartainly can relate to running out and buying another machine, I went without mine for 6 months before I finally let Ray buy me another machine and I'm so glad I relented as my XQ took 9 &1/2 months to come back and has been back in the repairshop (AGAIN) for nearly 8 weeks now. It's demoralising!!!
Hugs n roses, M
my computer got hit by ligting and i can't do any thing with my machine until
the insrence co sends me a check im lost
sorry to hear your baby is in need of repair again. You really need a deeper work table and a stop bar on the table top so the machine can't go so far back. Bite the bullet and have the baby repaired and do something about setting up the machine so you can't possibly get it too close to the wall.

Oh Yvonne, I lost 3 cell phones in a month one time... each time cost me $50.00! So I know how you feel! LOL...
Thank you all for all your kind messages I guess I learnt avery expensive lesson - I am gonna put it in the middle of the room next time I won't bang it under the window - silly silly me 3 times is bad bad bad !!! hugs 2 u all xxx
Oh Yvonne, I'm so sorry for you. I keep my Janome Instruction Book and other books at the back of the right hand side of my machine. This means I can't move the machine too far back, just make sure the books are out of the way of the hoops. Love and hugs sweetie and hope your baby is back with you soon.
Welcome to Cute, it's good to have you here.
If it's your baby, you should be arrested for child abuse! No excuses! Once is understandable, but THREE times? Just try to relax, maybe take a sedative, and call us in the morning. Maybe you can go visit it at the repair shop. Bet you'll be more careful next time, right? :) It's too bad machines don't "beep" when too close to wall. Seriously, I'm sorry you screwed it up again. :) Hugs to you. XOXOXOXO
Oh Daisy your humour cheered me up big style - I consider mayself well told off
Thank you love xx
Oh, no, Yvonne!! I have the same machine, and came within a whisker of doing the same thing once. I moved the sewing stand the machine is on to in front of a window. I keep it away from the wall, but just in case it gets moved, I do have that extra 6 inches of window well to protect me. You could also get some very bright plastic tape, and put it just under where the front of the machine should be to be safe. That way, if you see the tape, you know the machine is back too far! I sincerely doubt that it's something you can fix yourself, unfortunately. I am really so very sorry for your predicament, I do hope you get it sorted out soon!! Hugs, Marji
So sorry for your misfortune; these machines can be delicate.
My thoughts and prayers are with you!

pull the table away from the wall so it can't bang for one..........mine is in the middle of a room on a table so that can't happen. Flowers and hugs for you
