This is an older project posting but so happy it came up for us that didn't get to see it before. Super job with the metallic thread.
Pleased to see this one come to the top. It is really lovely, and to think I have the design too. Shirley
That is great! I'm glad you posted a photo as I would never had thought using a metallic would have looked so good! Great work!
Colleen, this is love - I just bet that table will be so pretty - can't wait until you have it all done and get a picture of it to share with us. *4U
Your coaster is really pretty. A very beautiful design.

Your parents are going to be so, so surprised at all you are making! This turned out very well, and you can see it's metallic. How did the metallic work for FSL? Breaks, shredding? I'd love to try something, but the metallic is so expensive I'd rather not botch it & be frustrated into the bargain. Hugs, Marji
I was afraid of breaking and shreading, too. I DID have a FEW brakes, but not too bad. It was worth the extra effort to re-thread 3 or 4 times.
Colleen, this looks great, in the gold well done *4u
I guess pretty well, it looks wonderful! Great Job.
Thank You! I'm pretty pleased with the outcome. I think I may try to do a FSL bowl in the metallic. I thought it would make a nice centerpiece with red, white and pink roses in it.
I did a set of 6 in white for the June challenge, but it's even more beautiful in gold metallic. ute's designs are great!
I just used white in the bobbin. I figure that side will be on the table, anyway, I sure didn't want to risk putting metallic in the bobbin... Cound make a big mess!
Oh no - just the opposite - it works better in the bobbin than any where else.
Really?? I would think that the smaller winding would cause more kinking. I actually found a thread color that matches the gold very closely, just isn't metallic. That is what I was going to do the bowl and doily with. I may just be brave and try the metallic in the bobbin! Thanks so much for the info!
